Hood support strut issue?

Hood support strut issue?
Hi.
I have a 96 infiniti I30 which is 131k on it. The hood support lost the power to hold. Can I fix them or need to replace? Would let me know where can I get a reasonable price if it is replaced?
Thanks.

I'm in the same situation...they still hold but probably not for much longer and it doesn't take much for it to close.
The Jeep I have needed hood struts too & I got them at Advance Auto for about $23 each. They were an exact fit & require a 3rd grade education to replace. ( I barely made the cut :-P) The I30 might be a little different. I have not looked into it yet.
They are not servicable items.
For now, I'm using a pair of ViceGrips to clamp the actuator rod in place & keep it from compressing while I'm in there.

Ya know...I was wrong. It was actually AutoZone that I got them from (Jeep). Let me look at my local one here and see what they want for them.
I'd be surprised if it were that much here.
Where are you?
(I saw where you listed your gas mileage in the 4th gen thread...& I see why you're spending time under the hood!!)
