Some jack@ss kid was driving his moms van WITH NO LICENSE AND NO INSURANCE and had like 5 other kids with him...well this kid likes to drive like an idiot taking corners all crazy and going about 40 in residential zones...well it finally caught up with him...

No pics from inside the trunk...but you can see that the frame is pretty much f*d...
So yeah....it's not looking good for the I30t
Blue book's about $6-$7k and when it was rear ended before, just replacing the bumper, bumper cover and paint was about $3k...
Luckily all of the kids in the van were relatively uninjured except one girl with a scalp laceration...AND the kid STILL tried to run!!! But with both airbags deployed and his passenger's face covered in blood, he did stop at the corner (you can see in the pics where the cops are a little ways down the street).
Since they were all minors, everybody's parents had to come pick them up...the driver's mom showed up in like an 06 Suburban rolling on chrome 24's. Hope that is a good sign on their ability to pay for the f*ing damage their idiot son has caused...thank God my wife was not in the car when it happened...she was still getting ready for work....

Hand up...yeah. You'll also probably notice the ripples in the roof from the transfer of energy though the unibody. All doors probably close different or not at all. it did what it was supposed to & it's used up. It can be fixed, sure...but I would not want it.
All those kids need a beating for being a part of that.

Oh yeah it'll work out one way or another...either way I'm getting my money and then some for my troubles...I think what bothers me the most is that the parents not only ALLOWED this kid to drive unlicensed/uninsured BUT they allowed him to drive around with OTHER PEOPLE'S kids with him!!?? They will pay thats for damned sure...
I mean...what if one of those kids WAS seriously injured? What if my wife was getting into her trunk when this happened!? I dont know what I would have done to the driver (dont want to think about it). But those parents sure did set themselves up for some SERIOUS liability...and in all honesty this was a "Best Case Scenario".
I'm gonna have to get something cheap for my wife here real soon while looking for a permanent replacement...I had planned to get a good 5-7 years out of this car and then upgrade her to a G35 coupe...but I am just not in the situation to do that right now
We'll see what she ends up with...

It would depend on if I cam across a good one...when I bought this one, it had one previous owner (older single woman) and had been dealer maintained. It had low miles, was only 5 years old, and a STEAL at $7k...with the model aging and getting lower in price, I feel that (around here) it might be tougher to find another prime example...

oh that looks pretty bad sry to here that, kids driving without a license been there done that but one thing is I didnt speed and drive crazy Im assuming since it was before Ur wife went to work early in the morning probably trying to show off going to skool, I hope it works out, any plans on what Ur going to do with that car

Wow, yeah I wouldn't even want that thing back if they could fix it. I know body shops can do some pretty amazing things but having all that line back up again... don't know about that. How old were the kids? If they're just young punk kids they'll probably just get a small slap on the wrist.

it looks like a scene from a movie... lol.
i'm glad your wife is ok, and that kid is definitely going to pay for that shiz
edit: Has the kid been driving around the block for some time? Is that what you were implying

Yeah I've seen the kid driving around in the van before...he's an idiot and I knew it was a matter of time...I just didnt know that I was going to be the unlucky bastard . And yes they were all on their way to school.
And yes, I will probably end up parting out the poor car and its not going to feel good...
What sucks more is that I cant find a cheap beater to buy my wife right now...I have to take her to and from work now until I do...

Grab an E30 for your wife. 1500 for a decent condition gas saver.

well it definately looks like a lose because of the age of the car. Insurance will probibly total it but based on the pics dosnt look like any frame damage or bolth doors would not open. if u did want to fix just have the rear quarter cut out of a totaled one and replace. i will agree probibly more money than its worth though. good luck sucks that it happend.

Bumpdate:
Got the police report today...no surprises...just interesting facts and confirmations
~ The unlicensed driver is 16 and will be 17 in March
~ The driver lives at an address while the van is registered to another address across town(and to a woman not sharing his last name...could be nothing but I found it interesting)
~There were 7 occupants in the van, not including the driver: a 19 year old guy, three 13-year-olds (2 girls, 1 boy), and three 12-year-olds (2 girls, 1 boy)
~Everyone was wearing a seatbelt EXCEPT for the only girl that was injured (duh)
~The reporting officer must have been very impressed with the timeless styling of the InfinitY Q30t, because he recorded it as a 2004 model regardless of what the registration in his very hand read ()
Cop's summary is pretty much how everyone knows it went down:
Vehicle 1 is Northbound on "X" St and makes a left turn to west bound "Y" Dr. V1 is traveling too fast to safely complete the turn and hits V2 ($$$$ ) which is parked on the north side of Beverly Dr.
The driver's statement is classic:
YA THINK!!!!???
Anyhow...I faxed this thing over to my insurance and they are going to try going after the registered owner's insurance company....which was listed on the police report but was non-existent at the scene....so they must have obtained this info at some point after the fact....fine with me as long as we get taken care of...

New Update:
Just got off the phone with Viking Insurance (although they seem to have a new name now).
I called their 800 number on the advice of my insurance company as they will apparently give an owner more time of day than another insurance company...I would have thought it to be the other way around....so she pretty much told me to be super aggressive with them...I can do that ...
The van's insurance company had no clue that anything had gone down with their Insured. So I confirmed that they do in fact have a policy for a Silver Ford Windstar with a certain License Plate Number and then I let them in on all the dirty info.
Gave her:
~Accident date and location
~Name and address of registered owner
~Name, address, phone number, and birth date of driver during accident
~Name, address, phone number, and birth date of EVERY SINGLE passenger
~Informed her of the one injured party and her contact info
~My car's info and my contact info
~Informed her that the car is not drivable
~Police report #
~Reporting officer
~My insurance company and claim #
Looks like I will have an adjuster contacting me in 1-2 business days to come out and take a look at the car
I'm actually glad that they have all that info now...so that way nobody involved tries to pull anything shady...Idk what exactly they would try to do, but people around here are like that sometimes
So now some more waiting...I gotta tell you though...this police report has already proven to be worth its weight in gold!

FINALLY got an adjuster out to look at it today....
He cringed as he walked up to the garage (literally!)...took a bunch of pictures of the rear, inside the trunk, the wheels, interior, etc. and took some measurements...
He said he's going to put in the estimate to Viking Insurance, but due to the extensive damage it will probably be a total loss....
No **** Sherlock, I was saying that weeks ago...but oh well...at least the ball is rolling again...I should be hearing from the insurance company in a few days...

i think its kinda funny that when WE say "a day or two" we mean "tomorrow or the day after". when an insurance company says the same, they mean "stfu! we'll get to it if we want to."
any update?
