Loss of trip button with head unit swap 03 i35

Original Problem-USA spec ipod integration system wasn't compatible with 03 head unit.

Solution-Install a 00 head unit.

New problem-steering switches don't work. I was expecting this but does anyone know how to rewire so that the trip button works? I'm stuck on mpg now.

Search the audio forum. There's a wire in the smaller wire harness that plugs in to the back of the head unit (this harness serves the steering wheel controls) that you need to ground. IIRC it's a brown/white wire, but I can't remember.

Same thing happened when I installed the stock navi in my 02 - no steering wheel buttons and no trip button. This should work to fix mine, too, Im assuming?

Note: Check your PMs, Trent
