I love my i30

OMG. Ive had this car 3 weeks.

Its an upgrade from a 97 sentra.

I cant set foot in that thing now even to fix it up to sell it.

My maxima is just so much more powerful, tight beautiful.

I dont even ever give people rides so the extra size is just a waste

according to the epa, a 97 sentra can get 39 on the hwy and a 98 maxima can get 26

BS!!!!!!!!!!

Wrong both ways, im getting about 28 mpg for 3 weeks, and a sentra gets about 33

damn thing has nothing going for it. And you know what? These are super similar vehicles and kbb lists them as being 500$ different in price.

people on the used car market like that fuel economy , and its impossible to find a civic so they like the sentra.

Whats crazy is this is a 3.0 vs a 1.6

Congrats on your purchase, however, the use of the words "tight" and "beautiful" should never be used on conjunction with each other. Ever.

This has been a public service announcement.

well I think mine is the same color as yours based on your sig

This i30 cost me $50. Seriously. It was broken down in a safeway parking lot.

I waited for a few days and the guy said he was just gonna sell it rather than tow it home.

Im serious. I put a starter in it right there in the lot and drove it home. Replaced the alternator and the battery ( still under warranty) and it was road worthy

No shiz. Seriously

the thing runs like a racehorse. Ive done a lot of maintenance but it was really well taken care of.

Even the brake shoes are at 90%. CV joints are very recent.

I dont know the cars history but I do know the engine was factory new replacement at 140k miles because there an actual sticker on the door

198k miles now.

Rear shocks are replaced... front ones are older but still working.

Basically its the best conditioned car Ive ever owned. I owned a g20 also. I actually think that design is way cooler but it just happens to be that my i30 is way more plush and beautiful so i like it more.

my g20 was ugly and tired it wasnt even leather. Those are awesome awesome cars Id trade this for one no question though.

There are no mods to this machine. It was well taken care of. I cant even explain why the person sold it for $50, for a while i was very dubvious I thought it was stolen.

Its really up to date, I mean the air filter was new air conditioning recharged.

coolant glowing still. K N filter means it probably had synthetic oil in it. Belts are new. I dont know what to say Its super rare to get a car for sale this up to date in the used market

I tried to sell it on craigslist because its my third vehicle but i couldnt bear to part with it. Im gonna have to fx up my sentra and get rid of it.

You can see that in the last picture. I also have a nissan truck, an 89 with a cabover camper.

beautiful glowing paint even
whats crazy is my friend has a comparable car its a 2002 acura tl 3.2

This car not only out accelerates it its much nicer.

It has a lot more miles on it but its way fresher.

Theres no reason it should but its just the 150k on the honda motor is way more than the 50k on this nissan motor basically. But it even looks nicer its just one body style less modern.

Id trade though lol but whats even crazier.... well people are stupid about cars and i believe she bought it for 15k financed from a used car lot. Seriously, I mean stupid people deserve what they get and this car is actually a miracle no one should count on finding too many of these.

But her car is not only expensive its old. sucks to be her. and i have no idea why it has some triptonic shifter thing and i think it miss shifts or something it just doesnt do 0-60 anywhere near as fast and it has in theory 20 more hp

"my maxima"

no.... "my infiniti"

it may be a maxima body, but its still an infiniti. Its a step up from those lowly nissans, so take the luxury title lol.

ya I love that its an infiniti. Its not just a nissan, its an infiniti. Its nice.
Thats a big part of why I love it. Its my second infiniti and they were both the best cars Ive ever owned.

To be honest its the most plasticky luxury car ive ever seen. But its got nice power seats, beautiful paint....

bose stereo climate control. Its snooty. I parked it right next to a gen4 maxima that was the same color with leather the other day just cause it was there.

No question an i30 is nicer. Every difference it has is COOL. more creases in the sheetmetal, single peice hood.

totally me too. If this car was manual it would be the perfect vehicle. Im going to try and get at least 20k more out of the AT though Im not made of money. If this car was a manual it might be the car i grow old with.

Your i30 has a different story than mine but as far as im concerned

if this car had a new transmission it would be new. Once I replace some cosmetics ( big windshield crack) new front shocks

put either mevi or 00vi in it, air intake and headers even. At that point its a truly modern vehicle.

I cant sell it for its kbb value because theres no way I can replace it with $3000

What do I even want with anything else? Im just in the research mode right now but if this had the 00vi of the K model, the fifth gen intake, it would be a truly modern vehicle very similar to what you could buy brand new today.

Nissan didnt really invent anything new from here they just tuned the same thing better.

Ya I cant really think of a better car on the used market.

Meaning its undervalued.

The only one thats better I THINK personally is the other entry level infiniti, the g20.
I do actually think if youre going for an oldie the j30 is pretty awesome too.
The g20 is cooler overall in design, but it came with versions way less luxury equipped.

All i30s are loaded.

the g20 is also a very rare vehicle in north america so parts are difficult. Not the i30.

Why do you feel that the 4 cyl. G20 is better than the 6 cyl. I30? The I30 has got to be way faster and way more luxurious, no?

its not really fair to compare them because actually

the g20 is two cars and the i30 is two cars

for the most part they were not on sale at the same time for too many years . At different times they were the entry level infiniti car, and a few years they were both for sale.

the g20 was for sale before and after

ok the g20 the first one called the p10 handles much better. Actaully the p11 handles much better too, they are smaller cars

the sr20d or sr20de can be tuned to have higher hp or turbo charged but in stock form youre right theres no comparison i think the g20 has 120 hp and the i30 has 190, Theres a hp to weight ratio thing to consider too, i mean the g20 is lighter.

All things considered the i30 takes off much faster and reaches a way higehr top speed. Its larger too

Also all i30 models are loaded and g20 had some bare bones specs. It was the actual entry level

Anyhow the g20 gets better gas mileage, and even more important really a majority of them were manual.

The i30 has a lot going for it too. I love my i30 because my g20 was totally a beater and my i30 will probably get me laid.

Theres nothing quite like a manual car with an independent suspension hitting winding roads though.

All around the g20 is economical, its luxurious, it has performance. Its one of the coolest cars ever made if thats what you want.
Its not gonna beat out your prelude or celica really, but its the luxury version of those with four doors. Its a cool cool car.

I30s are great too. Its way easier and cheaper to find parts for one

All infinitis are awesome. the m30, j30 whatever the g35

all except the ones that are new that use a 5.6 liter truck engine in a car. Those are retarded.

The q45 even is cool in its way. You know the first japanese caddilac? itll be worth something someday i believe.

i think though that when you consider that on the used market a celica goes for more than a g20

and an accord goes for more than an i30... they just cant be beat.

Thats the main thing id say, theyre both cool cars you can get for cheap. The only kbb non luxury luxury.

Manual tranny is great for a second car, IMO. I've owned a few when I was younger and they were a blast to drive.
Now that I'm in my 40's, I just don't like all the clutching action in traffic.
If I were wealthy, I'd definitly have a manual beast in the garage to take out and pound on the weekend.

I always have two cars. Just cant survive when one of them breaks down.

Now I try to have them do different things too, thats another part of the perfect car for me
I used to have a dodge camper van and a geo metro, sort of opposite end tools.

Im at the point now where I only want japanese vehicles. So I have a nissan truck with a cabover camper..... and this I30. If it were a manual it would be perfect.

truth be told the body style of the p10- which ends in the us in 95, is just too old compared to this. Its like a gen 3 compared to a gen 4 maxima because thats exactly what it is the i30 replaced the g20 in the infiniti lineup.

now the p11 it has a few years that they both exist, and a few years its behind the i35 too. Its more comparable and Id rather have it.

there is no 98 g20 to have a exact head to head with the car i have, its either newer or older.

My car is too modern looking to compare to a 90-95 nissan

the p11 is a little ritzier I think if you found a what a 99 i30 or a 99 g20 itd be a tougher call. Id trade.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infiniti_I

all the infinitis are super cool. Theres not really one i wouldnt want.
the g20 btw is a huge car woldwide known as the nissan primera.

Here in the us americans like torque over hp, and big trunks over independent suspension so we have the 2.4 liter altima.

The primera is the worlds version which is smaller, has a better ( smaller and more hp ) engine and independent or good suspension.

Here in the us they just slapped infiniti on it the majority had cloth seats and manual transmission. THEN the redid it AGAIN with the p11 only they made it much more luxurious, because the infiniti line up started with this big car i have now and couldnt compete with bmws 3 series or acura integra and various others.

Infiniti was definitely the me too brand to acura and lexus and nissan came up with a couple BS front wheel drive cars with leather interiors. Super nice cars but not real luxury cars. those two are the g20 and the i30, they are rebadged european normal sedans.

When they finally made the g35 thats when infiniti had something to actually sell besides the q45

Actually, the G35 replaced the G20 in the Infiniti lineup. The I was discontinued after the popularity of the G35 took off. The I was just too similar to a Maxima to justify the extra sticker price.

well you can look aat the infiniti line up in the wikipedia

the first g20 stopped in 96. the model that replaced it as the entry level was.... the i 30

the g20 came back in 99

you could say that the model that replaced it was the g35, but actually the model that replaced it as the entry level infiniti was again the i35. The g20 was replaced twice. The two g20s are different cars. They are both the world market nissan primera but they are the p10 and the p11. The p11 is heavier and it isnt fully independent suspension.

when the i35 got discontinued at that point the entry level became the g35. the g35 is a more expensive fancier car than a i35 definitely.

ok theres an i30, which is a gen 4 cefiro. then in 2000-01 theres an i30 which is a 5th gen cefiro. they didnt change the name but its actually a different model.

the i35, its also the fifth gen cefiro

So, the i30 is two different cars. I mean i think you know that if you have an i30, i35. some i30 forum members are gonig to the fourth gen thread after this some to the fifth gen thread They are two different cars. I dont think the fifth gen i30 35 was offered in a manual at all.

the g20 is two different cars too. when they got rid of the p10 g20 they didnt sell the p11 g20 here for a few years and let this 4th gen i30 be the entry level infiniti.

SOOOO INFINITI NAMED TWO DIFFERENT NISSAN CARS THE SAME THING TWICE.
I know thats confusing as hell but it just makes a confused discussion comparing them because they are both two different cars.

So last night I'm pulling into my local Shell gas station, and I see a black I30 limited on the other side of the pumps. I get out to go inside, and he asks about my car. We start talking and 20 minutes easily go by. He still had 30 day tags on his, and was interested in what I'd done to mine(headlights, drop, tint), and how to hookup a system in this car. I love that people still appreciate how clean I30s can be, and that people are still buying them.

I told him about the org, we'll just have to wait and see if he joins.

Ya it sold pretty well. I like the p11 a lot more because it looks nicer. Theres something sort of old looking about the p10 to me, it looks sort of 80s. I had one and i loved it though. People would say what is that, is that a hyuandai?

the paint was mostly non luxury on the p10 too with funky colors sometimes like maui blue and forest green. You got a lot in volvo burgundy too

according to what ive read the i30 was the best selling infiniti model of all time. Those are the two coolest ones to me

I mean dont get me wrong a g35? Id take one any day. Its just that its a 40k car, its a rear wd sports car.

infiniti never sold the p12 as a new g20. Id expect them too eventually.
Just car talk but acura has its euro accord as a model, and toyota has its prius lexus now

but the smallest infiniti is a rwd v6 3.7 liter no less.
