DIY: G35 Black Faced Clock Swap
I recently got myself a white clock from an I35 to swap into my G35 to better match my tan interior and did a DIY and figured I'd share with you guys with black interior looking to do the same. Pretty straight forward so here it is.
I also have one already done for sale if anyone wants it just PM me.
Not sure how to remove the clock on the I35 so refer to your FSM for details on that. Now onto the fun stuff. You need to find a clock from a G35 I'm not totally sure of compatibility but I know the clocks from any 03-06 coupe will work.
Here is the comparison pics the clock housing is exactly the same but the mounting points are different. Start by removing the 4 screws holding the bezel on both units.

Then flip it over and remove just 2 screws circled in red, you will be able to remove the entire clock and circuit board.

Once you have both the clock units removed just swap them and reassemble in reverse order, not forgetting to swap out the bulbs as the G35 bulbs are Orange. Here's how they look swapped and assembled.

Glad I ran across this thread. I know it's old, but I ended up getting a $40 clock from an 04 G35 at the junkyard for $20 because I pulled it myself haha. Took two minutes to take out, so I was ok with that. Looks fantastic with the black interior now. Thanks for the how-to
