I30 OBD2 problem

Hello, I have a 2k I30 and my MIL light is on. The problem I am having is I cannot get a scanner to connect to the cars computer. The scanner will power up but will not connect. What should I do?

Check 2 fuses, #10 & #12

See page 3 of this diagram for fuse locations.

Both fuse 10 and 12 are good. The scanner gets power and turns on but says it cannot connect..

How did you check the fuses, did you just look at them? You need to remove them and check them for continuity.

Or you could get a volt meter and see if you have 12 volts on pins 8 and 16 of the connector. Pin 16 has power all the time, pin 8 you need to have the ignition switch in the ON position.
