Hello all. New guy on this forum! This is my first car I bought myself and I love it! When I bought it the brakes were horrible and they felt squishy. I took a look at the rotors and pads and they were gone. So I decided to go on Ebay and buy a complete front set of rotors and pads. Installed them and after driving for about 5 miles I noticed my left rotor was burned and smoking.
At first I thought it was my caliper but it turned out to be my guide pin on my caliper bracket. Bought a new caliper bracket and new pins. Greased them properly put a brand new rotor and pads and the car went back to normal. Then I was driving on the highway and speeding up around 30-40 my car started shaking horribly. After passing 40mph the car went back to normal. Now I'm assuming my caliper could be sticking? Or maybe my brakes still have to "break in". Any thoughts? Thanks much!

first, this thread is 4 months old. second, the water pump cant come close to causing the battery to go dead. if its a new battery and for sure not the alternator then you have a parasitic drain somewhereOriginally Posted by debgray60
