how to remove 4thGen I30 front leather "seatback finisher"
https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...initi-i30.html
I started a new thread in the Infiniti forum. I had glommed onto someone else's post . If starting a new post like this in a more suitable forum isn't kosher then I apologize again.
My question is "How, precisely, does one remove the Infiniti, leather seatback finisher from the front seat without breaking it or its fasteners?"
Removing the seatback finisher is required to service the side air bags. If it is described in the FSM in places other than the two I've mentioned (BT-28, also RS-16 and I know I missed that page number last time) then I can't find it.
I didn't take a picture. The fastener that secures the finisher is blind - the main portion of the large leather finisher obscures the face of the fastener. The fastener head and one fold of leather are mated to the backing board - which is tight against a metal bracket that's a part of the seat.
Does the tool (which tool? sorry to be like that) go in-between the backing board and the clip (what does the clip look like?) - or do you release the clip from inside the metal bracket? Has anyone who's done this ever took a picture?
I would really like to know whether cleaning both ABS connectors, as dwapenyi described in the post above, will actually resolve the RED, B-L-I-N-K-I-N-G light on the dashboard...
You can't tell your pilots to ignore that "one red light" and then expect them to assign any import to any other "blinking" red lights (like the oil pressure light, for example).
Thanks,

I determined that TSB ITB98-035A is re: how to replace the (possibly) faulty harness of the side air bags. It includes the picture I was looking for (of the clip, and of the seat back finisher/seat back cover from the rear).
I'm glad I waited - what I thought were clips ("fasteners") at the top aren't clips at all, they're brackets. Clips are at 3, 5, 7, and 9 o'clock positions only.
Also, "start from the bottom and work upward" is another key piece of info I wouldn't have necessarily thought of.
