Hi, I'm thinking of installing a Carplay unit in my 2002 I35. I've seen a few mentions that we may be pre-wired for "phone" and that there may be a mic already in the steering column. Can anyone comment on this? Might be an option instead of the external Siri mic. Otherwise, could someone suggest a good place to mount the add-in Siri mic that comes with these units? Thanks.

i just installed a kenwood in my i35 i put the mic where door frame and window meet there should be piece that end right at the roof i have mine siting on top

Nissan did not build a microphone into the cars. You have to remember that these cars were designed back in the late 1990's and there wasn't much of a demand back then.

There was a built in telephone option offered, but nothing was pre-installed for it, either.
