wow! Im really surprised I made it especially since I have the only max that made it to MOTM with STOCK WHEELS!! Haha...I guess I got lucky with nice looking TE's as stockers.
A little story behind the car:
I got the car in August 2006 with intentions of just keeping it simple. It took me 6 months because I was ONLY looking for Sheer Silver. I was already blown away by how fast it was stock (back then lol). But then I started to see some really nicely done-up 5.5 gens and I realized it didnt take much to make them look good. Just a front lip and a nice drop is all the car needs to get attention.
So I got a Stillen front lip (stort story: when I was driving on the highway it blew under the car and I ran over it. I pulled over to the shoulder and picked it up and all I can say is POLYURETHANE ROCKS! The thing didnt break...I just repainted it). Anyway...I then got the stillen sides and the rear. Then I got some H&Rs with tokico blues and the ride was poo and there was barely a drop. So I got some htechs and put them on illuminas and it was better. The ride still sucked but atleast it looked semi-decent.
Then, as a member of NYCM, all you see are slammed cars haha. So I made it a point to save up for the some tein coilovers.
Then I saw the 1/4 times of members over here with their 5.5's and I saw some very impressive times with some pretty basic mods. I realized it was time to work on the "go" part. So headers came along with full exhaust, all the NWP stuff and some other little things.
The stillen lipkit was getting old and I took it off and bought the Ionic rear AE replica piece and imo it flowed so well with the car. I just left the stillen front on and put the factory 5.5 gen sideskirts back on. The car at this point was done. There was nothing else I wanted to do. I had a decently quick maxima that looked nice.
As with all things, we tend to get tired of what we have even if what we have isnt giving us any problems. Just this week I started demodding the car. Lip kit came off, coilovers coming off on monday and the exhaust is coming off as well. Im not selling the car, I'm just out of the modded scene for now. I just want something simple and not fancy that I have to worry about and something that I can use to get through law school. I guess a part of me was tired of having a modded car. Does that sound weird to anyone? So I am keeping the car for a few more years but it just wont look as good as did in these pics. It will be more/less stock. I still love this car and I believe getting MOTM came at just the right time for a happy ending
My goal with the car was to keep it factory-looking but still done-up in a way that looked nicely modded. That's why I ditched the stillen rear piece and got the AE replica. That's why I kept the factory rims although I did have 350z track rims.
I appreciate everyone's words.
Here are some random pics:
When I first picked it up Aug 06 (SO stock lol - had to get rid of that nasty tint)

congrats on making max of the month..i love the stance...i had my max lowered like that but i ended up putting a hole in the tranny pan due to a rock in the road...i must say its one of the cleanest 5th gens ive seen yet bro...keep up the good work
SUPER CLEAN Ride man congrats on MOTM.. I honestly dont even like looking at your because it makes me want one sooo badly! Your car should be the poster child for 5.5 gen maximas! Again Congrats and good luck!
