For sale or trade, 1996 black Infiniti I-30t 5 speed

I have been saving this great looking 1996 black Infiniti I-30t 5 speed manual for my daughter, who is turning 16, but it has become apparent that she just isn't interested in driving a stick. Having seen her try on multiple occasions, she loses track of what's going on on the road when she's trying to figure out what to do with the stick. I'm giving up and buying her an automatic.

So, this car is in Raleigh, NC. 178k miles. 5 speed VLSD. Kone adjustable shocks and Eibach springs (dropped about 1.5 inches). Handles great. I also put sound deadener under the carpets and in the trunk to reduce the noise from the road. Everything else is stock, but I did replace the Bose head unit with a Kenwood that will play MP3's (no cassette). Black exterior, beige leather interior. I'm pretty sure I still have an open air filter to replace the stock airbox. I put it back to stock just to make it quieter. Tinted windows. (North Carolina allows only 30% tint on passenger cars.) Recent clutch replacement. No major accidents, though the driver side rear pillar was repainted because of a parking lot collision with the bar on a tow truck. This car is so reliable I would drive her anywhere in the U.S. Tires are still good, being only a few years old. (Toyo Proxes).

I am willing to trade this car for a similar automatic. I haven't even checked the blue books to see what this car is worth, but I might consider a sale for FMV. Keep in mind that this car is in excellent condition. Also, I will throw in four other wheels for the car. The original owner (former forum member Leeinky) used this car in sports car rallies, and he had a separate set of wheels just for that. The car currently has the stock wheels on it. Also, I have a car cover that fits it. The car is currently covered in my garage. I drive it about once a month, and often take it on long road trips to Charlotte or the beach.

If there is any serious interest, I will post photographs.

Here are some pics:

This first one was after I drove friends to the beach. (My car is biggest!) I had quickly done a spray wax detail before we left. When we were packing the car to leave the beach, I was so impressed with how good the car still looked, I had to take a picture.

This is just a photoshopped fantasy pic, but it still looks good.

According to Kelley Blue Book, the FMV is $5,650. But, remember you get the stock wheels plus four TSW Trophy wheels, a car cover, Kone shocks, Eibach Springs, and a cone filter kit. And a head unit that plays MP3's.

I'll sell for $5,500 to a 4th gen. Maxima/I-30 lover, but I would rather trade for another black auto I=30.

I just bought a gorgeous '98 I30 white/tan in January. I was dying to find a stick at the time, but that's all that was available for me. Car has 166k miles and still looks great. Everything is fixed up along with new front brakes & rotors, tune up, and an extra set of '01 I30 rims with new tires that i haven't put on yet,

I've put over $1k into it already, so it realistically cost me around $5k. It's a great car! Do you have any more pics of your car?

These pics are too big to post, but they come from a day spent polishing the I-30t with Klasse All-in-One, Klass High Gloss Sealant Glaze, and Souveran Pinnacle Carnauba Wax. You can see them as a WEBPAGE, or you can see the individual pics HERE, HERE, HERE, and HERE.

By the way, the fog light is being repaired tomorrow. While the car is at the stealership, I'm having the A/C system evacced and re-filled.

If there are no takers from the forum, the car goes on Auto-Trader next week.

Tax,

KBB private party, in good condition for this 178K ml car is $3,480. Good luck with the sale.

Edmunds.com's private party value for your car, in clean condition, is $1,969.

Thanks for the info, but the printout I have from KBB private party, excellent condition, 180k miles, is $5,640.

However, I just listed the car on Craigslist for $4,500. So, the car is still for sale in Cary (Raleigh), North Carolina.

the car is loaded 167k thou leather moonroof etc., the Konis and H&R are also brand new I got them like a month ago, and I like the way the ride so I kinda wanna keep them and that was 1G out my pocket for them, so if we can work something out about that, then I think we can make the trade, imma just have to do some talking since the rents' drive the car sometimes but I can get around that little issue

as U can see this car was a hand me down it was my moms car and U know moms are almost always bad drivers so there are some dings and scratchs, the engine is flawless oil changed after every 3000miles just did a tune up Changed the front pads and rotors like 3 months ago just did the rear rotors pads and Calipers last week myself, I just put new tires on it Goodyear Excellence(more of a comfort tread then performane) the front seat a bit worn but still comfy, everything works except the head unit as I said before U can keep Urs if U want just to be fair but the speakers are working perfectly

Wanna trade? I have a blk 99 Maxima SE auto. Just turned 126k on the clock. Let me know and I can give you more details regarding my car.

Mods include

AE headlights with 6k hids
Smoked bumper lights and rear red/clears
5th gen rims in custom gunmetal
Kyb gr2's on Progress springs. 1.7 front and 1.5 rear
Generic front strut tower bar

I'm currently modding some more but not to heavy and only think next for it is a 2.5in pipe, cattman exhaust with dual remus tail pipe and headers.

Also putting a stillen front lip and thats about it.

Crusher, we definitely might be able to work something out. This week is terrible, though, and my car has started acting funny because of bad gas, and I want to work that out and make sure it's back to normal.

Maybe we can meet next week?

That's good news. The technical issue with the car has been resolved, so the black I-30t is running well, handling well, and driving great. How about some time on Saturday?

If you want to meet before then, maybe around lunchtime, just to see each other's cars up close, before we get into the heavy inspections and horse trading, that's fine, too.

Hey, Crusher, I just got your phone message while driving and then deleted it accidentally before I could memorize your number. I'll look for your email. Thanks.

Sometime around noon tomorrow (Saturday) will work great. I'll be in Raleigh near Crabtree, so we could meet somewhere on Glenwood or I-40, midway between Raleigh and Durham.

Look forward to meeting you. Call me again if you don't hear from me by 8:00 tonight.
