FS: '99 Red 5spd Maxima SE 173k - Minor damage - $2500 WNY

(Roof rack not included, wheels maybe included)

Well, it really pains me to do this but after the recent deer incident I have decided to get rid of the Max. My job has me travelling more and more lately so I'm looking to pick up a 5.5 gen Max or G35 6 speed for those long drives.

Here's the rundown:

1999 Nissan Maxima SE
5 Speed Manual
173,2xx miles
Crimson Blaze Exterior (repainted in January 2007 - more info below)
Tan Cloth Interior
No sunroof, manual seats.

I purchased this car from a small local dealer in June 2004 with 72k miles on it. I am the second owner (first owner was an older doctor). Even though everyone loves to say it, this car has seen predominantly highway miles during my ownership - with frequent trips between Buffalo, Syracuse, Albany, NYC and Pennsylvania, the miles added up fast!

The car is, while not fully modded, far from the stock form I purchased it in. In January 2007 I had the car repainted in Nissan color code AR2 (Crimson Blaze), found on a small number of '99.5 Maxima SE-L's. The jambs, etc were NOT painted at this time. However the paint job still looks great and definitely gets attention from other Maxima owners. The original color was EV0 (Sunlit Sand). The car was NOT in an accident at this time; the factory paint was having some issues with clear coat flaking off so I decided to go for a respray.

Other modifications include:
- KYB AGX Shocks paired with Progress springs
- FSTB (currently uninstalled)
- Clear bumper lights and Red-Clear tail lights
- 35% Tint
- Bixenon 6000k HID headlights, 6000k HID foglights (both 2 weeks old)
- Pioneer DEH2900MP Headunit, car is wired for a system as well.
- And probably other stuff I'm forgetting...

Now onto the bad news. Last Saturday night 1/26/08 a deer hit my car from the driver's side on the way home from my family's house. This broke the windshield, the sideview mirror, and dented the front fender (very bad) and rear driver's door (barely visible - right at the door handle).

The windshield was just replaced yesterday ($210, didn't go through insurance). The car now is 100% driveable - I drove it the 45 miles home after hitting the deer with a broken windshield with no problems as well. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere, as it has served me well for my minimum 70 mile per day commute.

The car itself runs and drives great - clutch does not slip at all, no noises from the transmission (running Redline MT90 GL4), alignment's good, etc.

Some recent new parts:
- Starter
- Front and rear pads, rotors, calipers
- Coils
- Front strut mounts

Extra parts that can be included:
- Mint Black Leather front seats from an I30
- Spare MAF, couple spare coils

Car has a clean title, a replacement copy of which should be in my posession in about a week.

Pricing (open to offers):
$2500 as is on 15" GXE steelies with newer tires
$2750 as is with 17" Konig Traffiks (pictured) with newer tires
$3200 with damage repaired (new fender, mirror and painted) and steelies
$3400 with damage repaired and the Konig's.
(The stock 16" SE wheels have been sold, sorry!)

Shoot me a PM or email at cevans@pls-net.org if you're interested and have any questions. I will post some updated pictures with the damage this weekend.

Thanks for the comments guys! Honestly I am rethinking selling it - this car has treated me VERY well over the past 3.5 years and I may just keep driving it since it's all paid off. I'll definitely need a reliable DD with an old BMW in the stable now anyway.

Couple updates actually - I am picking up a brand new fender and used mirror tonight, and a new driver's door in the next few days (the current one is definitely salvageable, just feel like getting a fresh piece). So if I do sell, the "as is" price will either be upped a little bit or done away with completely depending how far into the replacement/paint I get.

Oh and it may be receiving a couple interior updates as well. Stay tuned!

Sale is on hold for a while (probably until spring). I don't want to rush into buying a new car so I'm going to wait until the BMW comes out of winter hibernation so I have something to drive.

Thanks for looking!
