F/S: 03 6spd 38Kmi! Macon,GA blk/blk lthr ti, me, hlsd

This is the one you've been looking for!
I hate to give it up, but i've got other priorities right now.

-The car is in EXCELLENT condition, with all service records.
-The car has never seen snow, and has been garaged it's whole life.
-Never raced

More Pictures at: http://picasaweb.google.com/monterey.e/2003Maxima

Here are the details:

2003 Maxima SE with ONLY 38,860 Pampered miles! (update 5/31/08: 40,500miles)
Super Black Exterior
Black Leather Interior
All options except for navigation:
-6Spd Manual
-Helical Limited Slip Differental
-Bose 6disc
-meridian package (Heated Seats, steering wheel, mirrors)
-Titanium package (Bose 6dsc, stainless "MAXIMA" sills, polished wheels, compass in mirror, titanium accents)
-New Tires (Kumho Ecsta ASX) w/less than 1K on them.

The only "mods" I've done:
-Berk Intake w/dry apexi filter (at about 24K miles)
-3M invisashield front end, mirrors, and door handles
-20% tint (ceramic type) on all windows

I still have the OEM intake, and it will go with the car.
Additionally, there are some clear front and rear side markers that I never put on.
Also, I have a set of brand new OEM front brakepads that are still in the box to go with the car.

Although I really have other things than the max I should be taking care of, it will be a very bittersweet sale, and I don't absolutely have to sell it, so I have't posted it anywhere else. (Autotrader, etc.) This is my 3rd Maxima, and I would love to see it go to a worthwhile .org member who will appreciate it, since it was very difficult for me to track it down when I purchased it.

Now, the punch line: asking $16K [Price drop 3-26-08 to $15.5K] [Price drop 6-9-08 to $15K]

[Update 6-9-08: Having the classic Bose head unit CD player issue. Sounds like Cd's are played through a pillow. Radio is fine. Friggin OEM stereos.]

Please PM me, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Anybody interested?

Also, to clarify: I am leaving the Berk intake on the car, but will give the buyer the OEM one as well.

By the way, I don't seem to be getting much of any feedback on this thread either good or bad. Is anyone interested at all or is the asking price just to high for most people?
Lemme know; gimme some feedback; pointers, suggestions, comments, etc.

Thanks

Car looks mint and your thread is fine but honestly if you are looking for feedback. Your asking price is too high while the mileage is very low the price is higher than the aveage i have seen for some 2k3's

Thanks- That's what I assume the case is. If someone out there is looking for this combination of Maxima as much as I was when I bought it, they might be willing to pay it.

I may drop it some and probably put it on autotrader if I don't see much more response with price as is.

Still for sale.....still in the garage.....waiting for a new home.....

GL with your sale. I have my 03 6spd up for sale as well. Everyone is trying to get the lowest price for our cars. It's like we keep them in great shape and pamper the car and everyone is looking to get 11k for them. (lol) Which some have sold for on here but maybe those ones arent as well kept(miles) as ours nor have they had the 6spd which is now obsolete in the new 7g. GL with your sale thats one sweet ride for someone who is ready to get into one of the best maxima IMO.

Very nice car. Definitely might want to adjust the price:

Here's what Edmunds TMV value says for average condition:

Trade-in: $8787
Private: $10,002
Dealer: $11,145

Not trying to low-ball, just stating what the books say.

For comparison, 03's w/ 70k miles at auction are going for around 9k.

At auction for 9K so they are being sold for 12-15K with DOUBLE the milage... so what are you trying to say again?

Some thoughts:

- The market is what it is. Either someone will want it for the price its at (or that I drop it to maybe) and buy it, or I will get to enjoy it a while longer, or maybe even keep it. Who knows?

-As the rarity of any given car increases, the Generic (Kelly) blue book values become less and less a factor. Blue book values do not take the "specialty" or "rarity" of a car into account. All that Kelly blue book looks at is a car with a collection of options and their collective worth, discounted for milage and age. How many others like it are available does not come into play in the blue book value, although it does in reality.

-I draw your attention to exhibit A: our old friend, the AutoTrader. It would seem to me that there is exactly 1 six speed 2003 maxima for sale IN THE USA with less milage (by only 2k miles). That doesn't even take into account that it is lacking many options, has had ???? owners that you will never get to talk to, and is in ??? condition. Incidentally, the asking price for that one is $16,995.

-Further exploring the Autotrader shows only 5 Black six-speed '03 maximas for sale IN THE USA regardless of milage, condition, or options. Nuff Said.

Summary: This rare car may or may not be worth my asking price to someone out there, and I may adjust my price accordingly if I feel I need to. The Kelly (or whoever) blue book price isn't right or wrong, it's just irrelevant in this particular case.

Thanks for the comments; keep 'em comin'

I prefer comments like," holy crap where has your car been all my life! I'll be on a plane in the morning and I'm bringing a check for $20k!"

But other comments are welcome ;-)

Bump....Still for sale......

I understand your position and have been in your shoes before.. but looking at it from the other angle.. this isnt a rare car no matter how you cut it..yes only a few have a manual transmission but its a mass produced family sedan... not a niche car... I dont see anybody paying $16k for it ever..I hope im wrong for your sake...Because I know how you feel.. But when you start talking between $12.5-14 i think more people will respond and bite.. please dont consider me as trying to flame you because im not

No worries; no offense taken, and I really do appreciate the feedback.

I guess since it is very literally speaking a rare combination (as opposed to a niche car or a widely accepted collector car of some kind) if someone wants this package with very low milage, this is about the only place they'll find it.

If it turns out that I would have to drop it to the 12K range in order to sell it, I probably will just keep it. After all, by that time I will hopefully have it completely paid off, and it is a very nice car with low milage.

If no one buys, I will definitely have to do something about the stock "boatish" feel. It feels like Nissan went too stiff on the shocks and too light on the springs. I feel the little bumps, but still have body roll. I like keeping things stock, but I may just have to do some mods if it's really meant to stay mine.

Nissan depreciation sucks.

i disagree.... the nissan maxima isn't a rare car, but a 6 speed TE maxima with low miles is a rare car.. especially considering the market that the seller is advertising to: maxima enthusiasts... on autotrader.com people probably couldn't care less about this car, and just see it as any other maxima... but when you're advertising the car on maxima.org, which is full of maxima enthusiasts, then you have people who know these cars and understand the rarity of a 6 speed low mileage TE in good condition

to the OP: you came to the right place to sell your car.. it's a beautiful car, and if this was 3 months ago when i was in the market for a 6 speed max, i would consider coming to georgia for 15k

did you buy it new? are you killed in it? if so dont let that keep you from a good offer. if you get someone to offer $14k take it you can roll the rest into your new loan..

get new car and finance negative part into new loan....dealership will cut check back to him for it....that check plus buyers check equals free and clear title....not rocket science..

A little history, clarification, and notes:

-I am not the original owner. I flew to Pittsburgh and purchased this car from the original owner in august of 2006. This was his third car, and seeing as he had it on a battery tender, had covers over all the floor mats, and rarely drove it, he decided to sell it. Needless to say, he kept it in great shape, and kept a fairly complete set of records on the maintainence. He even kept the original window sticker, which I have a picture of at the website in the first post. I bought the car with 22K miles on it, so I have put another (17K now) miles on it myself.

-As for the money exchange, the lein on the car is through a local credit union here in middle GA. From my understanding, the buyer would write a single check to the credit union for our agreed upon purchase price. Out of that amount, the credit union would keep what I still owe on the car, and write me a check for the rest.

Also, not that this car is selling like hotcakes, but In case it matters to anyone, I will be unavailable for about the next 3 to 4 weeks. I will try to keep an eye on this thread, but I may not have access to an internet connection, so don't be offended if you get no reply. sit tight and I will return.

Thanks

Yup, still available. I'm still out of the country, so it's not available immediately. I was expecting to be back the 18th of April, that date may get pushed further out... not sure.

FYI: Internet is spotty here, so I don't check this every day; maybe once a week.

unfortunately the market in the southeast for 6spd maximas seems pretty slow at the moment. The people I have talked to seeking a maxima have been looking for an automatic.

Good luck with your sale! I've been trying to sell mine and haven't got an offer over 8k (2k2 6spd black on black meridian package bose etc everything but nav and titanium accent package.

I might be selling it to a chap but i might need to keep the car until june before i can sell it

Sweet max but at that price also consider that 04-05 6 speed SE's can be bought for 14-15k. If you do consider takin less tho then contact me. I have cash in hand and Im lookin for a max but I cant offer more then 13k for it. Otherwise Im bout to jump on this 6 speed 04 I found for 13,700. Lemme know as soon as you see this. Im buying a car one way or another this week.

Und3rgr0undk1ng-
13k is just too low, although I appreciate the offer. If that's the best I can get, I will definitely keep it. Keep in mind, though, this is the fastest production maxima thus far (no clue on how fast the 09 is?), so the 04-05 6 speeds are actually slower. Good luck on the 6 speed 04 you found; hope you find that it is what you are looking for!

I lived at the Broadway lofts on Pine and MLK for about 4 years, and Cesare that Owns Luigis, Tic Toc, and used to own DEA is a good friend of mine. I installed the projectors and screens there. Wish I still lived closer. Thats a nice car! bump

Man, I know I want to, but I just sold my Max. I wish you the best. If I were in the market, that would be what I would want.

What a beautiful car. I hope you can hold on to it. Once you've sold your Max, you can't kick yourself enough.

That is one gorgeous car and definently the perfect combination of year, color and options that I would want if I had the money to buy a newer Maxima. Take the advice of the posters above.. KEEP IT!!

If you decide to sell I hope you get what you are asking for it.. I'm sure if you are patient enough you will find someone on the .org that will take it off you hands.

If I remember correctly, I think the milage is up to about 42K now.

Sorry; forgot to update. Obviously no one was really checking it anyways.
Basically, the Maxima sold for $15k in July.
Thansk to all those people who provided feedback and support.

I am officially a non-maxima owner for the first time in????
So sad. Maybe there will be another one for me in the future, maybe with more of a sport car feel....
