FS: 1996 maxima SE 5SP $800 OBO Dublin, VA

SOLD-SOLD

Hi all it is finally time part with the maxima. 1996 maxima SE 5SP 212,500 miles. We are 2nd owners of this car. We purchased it in 2003 from the original owner who had bought it new. Car had something like 116,000 miles on it when we bought it and now it's up to 212,500 Miles. It's been a great car and a good run but now it's time for it to go. Let's see if I can describe it and post some pics.

The car has aftermarket AGX adjustable struts and shocks on it (4 way up front 8 in the rear). The fronts have always been on setting 1, the softest. They are still plenty firm and could be turned up if desired. Has a cattman aftermarket rear sway bar. With both these upgrads the car handles MUCH better than it did when we bought it. In Roughly the last year we've replaced the Tires, muffler, battery, starter, water pump (OEM), and misc repairs. The engine runs strong. Starts runs no issues. A/C still works. Interior is in good condition for a car of it's age. No smoke smell if that matters. All the signal lights and windows etc all work. Has the bose stereo with cd and it works.

Selling as it needs a new trans or rebuild. It still works and infact monday we took it on a 3 hour highway ride to buy the car that's replacing it. however it makes a grind grind noise while driving like a bearing inside has worn out. Been driving it like that for awhile. Now it's getting difficult to get into first gear. The car also has some damage on the front right and right rear in 2008. Replaced the front fender and had the car realigned and banged out the back corner a bit and kept driving it.

Car comes with 4 additional OEM wheels with winter tires on it (same style rims as those on it now). Still some useable tread on winter tires. (lots of tread on the tires on it).

Here's a list of some of the more significant repairs that have been done.

New clutch (OEM) by dealer 5/12/2006 157725 miles
Idler pulley (OEM) 5/1/2006
AGX adjuststable struts 2/17/2006
Cattman rear sway bar 2/17/2006
AGX adjustable rear shocks
LH axle shaft and CV joint assy 3/29/2004
Right rear wheel bearing assembly 2003
Purchased car in 2003 from original owner 116,000 miles

It needs one O2 sensor so the check engine light's on. (I've got a code reader). IACV valve could used to be replaced. Sometimes the idle will stay around 1,000 instead of settling to 600rpm.

With a new trans could be used for basic transportation or use it for parts. Open to offers. If I don't sell in a week or so will probably part out.

Can't seem to upload pics. I'll try to get them hosted somewhere here. In the mean time message me with an e-mail and I can send them.

Was bent very slightly. Not enough to puncture the radiator or A/C condensor. Seems like it did crack the over flow bottle and the washer fluid bottle. Both have been replaced or repaired (can't remember now). It functions as it should anyway.

Edit: see this pic http://home.comcast.net/~thankath/Maxima/IMG_2345.jpg Shows it pretty well.
