I'm looking for a second car for my Dad who lives in Chicago. He just got into a nasty accident ( not his fault) in his 2004 Altima on his way to my brother's house for the Thanksgiving dinner. If the insurance scraps the car, he said that he would rather drive on older car from now on. I suggested Maxima and he said all right.

I'm looking for an enthusiast owned Maxima or Infinity I30, preferably 97-98 GLE, SE, or GXE Auto or 5speed in that order, clean and in good mechanical condition without mechanical issues. High miles are ok as long as the vehicle had major wear and tear items replaced (shocks, alternator, starter, and other common Maxima failure items).

This is going to be son to father present and my budget is $3000.

I'm in Chicago and have a 1997 Maxima SE Auto black exterior, charcoal grey interior. It has 91k on the dash, no rust or dents, very clean. PM me if interested so you can come see it. I just replaced the maf, evap canister, and spent a whole day taking apart and completely cleaning the egr guide tube. I'll take 3k for it.
