FS: 1998 Maxima SE 5-speed

I just picked up an '03 TE, so I need to get rid of my '98 A few bits of information:

-144,000 miles
-5-speed manual
-Sterling Mist, black interior
-Lightly modified, modifications listed in the garage profile under my username
-Will come with factory-size 16" all-season tires that have maybe 1,000 miles on them

One other thing to note is that it has some body damage on the passenger's side. It truly is not that bad, but because of the location at the very back edge of the rear door and the small strip of quarter panel there, it is very expensive to fix (was quoted $2500). For this reason, I opted not to fix it. It has no bare metal, so it won't rust. I chose to leave it as-is rather than attract more attention to it by attempting to paint over it. I will post pictures of it once I get the car cleaned up.

For now, "old" pictures are available here (that don't have the damage):

EDIT: Some quick pictures I took of the damage:

I'm asking $1500 for the car. It runs great, does not currently need anything (tires, brakes, etc.), and it's been dead reliable for me for the last 2.5 years. It's also a load of fun to drive, particularly with a good set of tires. I'm located in State College, Pennsylvania, which is in the exact center of the state.

Depends which way you go, but in general about 1.5 to 2 hours from the border.

If someone from the .org buys it, yes. Otherwise they will be taken off and sold separately. If the car is sold with the retrofitted lights, the factory headlights will also be included with the sale along with a number of other extras and upgrades that were never installed.

If anyone wants the 17" 5.5 gen wheels w/ summer tires included it would be an extra $300, and you would have both sets of wheels and tires.

What kind of gas mileage do you get? The reason I ask is I'm looking for something cheap that's more fuel-friendly than my '03 to use as a daily commuter car. You're not too far away from me either.

I don't really keep track to be honest, but it's probably not spectacular. Last I calculated I got about 20 MPG exclusively driving around town, and it gets between 26 or 27 on the highway because of the shorter 5th gear (70 MPH is about 2800 RPMs!). I'm sure someone who drives the speed limit 100% of the time could produce much better numbers.

Gotcha. Well you have a great price for this car but I don't have the money because the school semester is finishing up and I'm just getting started working for the summer. If you still have it in about a month (which I'm sure you won't) I'll definitely be in touch. Good luck with the sale, always nice to see others in this area who have nice Maximas.

Almost bought this car a year and half ago, (even put down a deposit on it, and was looking into flights) but ended up finding one in Denver.

Huge bump for a great guy.

I really think it would be to your advantage to part out the headlights considering what you are asking for the whole car... I know a certain sister car to yours (in my driveway) who'd love to have them! If you do decide to do that. PLEASE let me know.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Makes me wonder how things would be different if I had sold this car back then. Hmm.

I will keep the headlights if whoever wants to buy the car doesn't want them, and you'll be first on my list of people to sell them to I have a feeling whoever gets the car is going to want to keep them, though.

State College (where I live) has it's own airport. Philly and Pittsburgh also have major airports.

It's good until November, but this car isn't really what I would call "quiet" (stock is what I would call quiet), so I'm not sure how much of a difference it would be from your 5th gen. What kind of exhaust does your 5th gen. have?

Just saw the craigslist ad you posted and I had just responded as well.

Shoot me a text on that number i emailed or PM and I may be able to make a trip up to State College. Maybe cash in hand since you're asking 1500.

I got 28MPG summertime and 27MPG wintertime with my 96 5spd, 98% hw driving. This 98 should get similar mileage.
