84 maxima RWD maxima L28, 5 speed, 83 parts car, clean leather, lowered, digital

both cars are sold together unless someone wants the 83 maxima body before the 84 driver is sold.
Besides that, there are many prices for this sale.
I mean that I can keep some parts, if you want a lower price.

There is a link to my photobucket account in this ad.
You will see 35 pictures in the 84 maxima album
You will see other similar pictures in the primary photobucket folder.

I have a clean 84 maxima that for sale. It comes with an 83 diesel maxima body. The 84 has near flawless leather seats. Nice carpet and original Datsun floor mats. The engine had a water jacket that eroded at the head gasket. I put in a 77 280z engine. I converted it to a 5speed. I bought that 83 maxima just for the clutch pedal. but I made out better than expected on that diesel crankshaft. *I stopped at the end of last fall with some wiring questions. There are 3 options to getting this engine running.
1 *Splicing wires from 280z harness to maxima relays.
2 **getting the engine relay panel and ignition coil from a 77 280z (and using a 77z harness that I have)
3 ***getting a set of dual or triple carbs (and not worry about a lot of wiring)

Any way, it's an 84 so it's the only year that said Nissan in the grill. And the only year that said Nissan and Datsun on the trunk.
*Before the issue with the original engine, I had lowered it. 280zx suspension techniques springs at the rear. Ground control adjustable coilovers in the front with eibach springs. Blue Tokico HPs all around. it was a very balanced set up.
****That ridiculous muffler was removed and replaced with a turbo style muffler from meineke. It had a deep sound with the 2.4L max engine.

Radiator is new (maybe 1k mile) and has been sitting indoors on the work bench for all this time.

Steering rack is new with zero miles. It was replaced because it was easy to get to.

While swapping the z motor in, I spent $800 on new parts: clutch, flywheel cut, master, slave cylinder, seals, belts, water pump, o rings, hoses, seals, gaskets, steering rack, etc.....

I took the diesel oil pan (high capacity) and put it on that z motor. The diesel oil pan had a tube on the side. It originally connected to a hose for a pump. I have adapted a union to hookup an oil temperature gauge (included).

I have a 5 speed or a 4 speed trans for it. The 5speed is from the 83 max diesel. It has 205k one owner (elderly man) miles. The 4 speed is the 127k mile mate to the 280z engine. Neither are installed. There is a modified ratio 5 speed covering the clutch assembly right now. I'm sorry that transmission is not for sale. It's case is original to my 280z. So I plan to remove this transmission. But installation of the other transmission is not included in the price. I'll just put it in the parts car trunk or whatever. I don't have a lift at the house. Lining up the input shaft to the crank, while on my back, was not fun. But, money talks.

Contrary to other owners' conversion to a manual transmission, the 84 body had a much wider trans tunnel for the auto trans. I made adapter plates to mount the manual transmission mount. I was very meticulous about the height of the transmission for proper driveshaft angle. All Is well.

I have a digital odometer and analogue odometer cluster. Both are included.

The engine is from a 77 280z with 127k miles. The Outside of the engine was dirty but not from oil. It was fully cleaned down to the blue engine block paint. *All the seals were done before it was installed. New fuel injector o-rings and hoses in the fuel rail.

It's sitting on pretty clean polished 6spoke 280zx wheels with brand new no name (star fire) 195/60/14 tires. They are a sub brand of cooper, I believe. I can put original maxima wheels on the car to Change the pricing.

no cracks in the dash

An unused exact color code spray paint is included. I think I must have bought the jar of touch up paint too. I'm not sure.

R12 a/c was working and has not been disconnected.

Minor hidden rust at bottom of fenders. Typical rust under left tail light. (stupid muffler!). *I believe the 83 maxima body had no rust on that panel.

I'm sure I am forgetting some things, but i have kept a diary on the engine swap process. And i have kept a log of all service that ive completed. The info in the diary includes parts numbers comparisons between the z80z, 280zx and maxima engine and clutch system. There was some machining required, for the oil pick up relocation, since the deep end of the maxima oil pan and 280z oil pan are reversed. I am a former Nissan technician. And I am very meticulous about my work. A small magnet and a lot of brake cleaner was used to prevent any debris from staying in the oil passage that was extended. A process that was continued, even when no debris was found on the inspection magnet. *i have a lot of pictures of the process taken.

anything that is exclusively a maxima part, has to be included in the sale. If there is a 280z part that you don't want so the price will be less, I'm fine with that.

if this maxima was running, and even if it had the original engine and automatic trans, 3 eager eBay bidders could bring the price up pretty high. With the spare body panels and lights And glass on the parts car, that's even better.

I can't consider the 100+ hours I spent on the engine prep and swap. I know I can't get that back. I'm just considering what I would pay for these two maximas, with maintenance records, and tons of 2k mile and 0 mile parts.

$4800.
with the zx wheels
1 manual transmission
a 77 280z harness

Lower price if
