2003 Nissan Maxima SE 6 speed - $3500

I'm finally selling my baby, Its a 2003 Maxima SE 6 speed, the car has 150k on it but the engine has only 107k, it has a new clutch, all fluids, and both axles, front brake pads and calipers, its also lowered with Eibach springs and performance shocks with a camber kit, K&N air filter, tinted windows. The original springs are included with the sale. The car also has new bridgestone tires. It has a black cloth interior, heated seats, Bose audio, spoiler, sunroof, the rare titanium package and its gunmetal grey exterior. The problem withe the car is it runs with the crankshaft position sensor disconnected but with it connected it won't run, I replaced the sensor and that didn't do it, I had it looked at and was told that it needs the flywheel to be replaced, I'm including a used flywheel with the sale. I was going to replace the flywheel and keep it but I got too many projects and a baby so I need to part ways with the car but my loss is your gain. The price is firm.

The car is located in Reston, Va, Pics and a video of the car running can be viewed at: https://picasaweb.google.com/1143208...eat=directlink

Not sure why a replacement flywheel would suddenly allow the car to run properly. If it runs without the CPS plugged in then i doubt its a flywheel. Have you checked the timing ring on the crank pulley itself?
Years ago i had an aftermarket pulley fail and caused the car not to run. There was a ring that bolted to the pulley with pickups on it for the sensor. When that ring would "float" around the pulley with the car running it would screw up the timing and cut out. Not sure if the 03 crank pulley is like that or not but it wouldn't take but a few moments to check it out. Just start trying to wiggle the pulley and/or things around it. If something moves then look into it further. Might want to take the belts off the crank pulley and give it a good tug just to be sure...light persuasion with a pry-bar helps. Easier to check it without the tension of the belts on it. If you want to be really lazy you could crank the car up and watch the pulley from underneath the car to see if there is any movement when running.(flashlight recommended)

Guy still hasn't put pics up so.... I'm sure he doesn't care how to fix any of his problems at this point (selling the car or fixing it)

Hey guys,

I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, my mom was hospitalized and ended up having an emergency surgery. Pics and a videos of the car running can be viewed at: https://picasaweb.google.com/1143208...eat=directlink

Regarding the question of why a flywheel would fix it, the flywheel has a disc attached to it that the crankshaft sensor reads to detect the position of the crankshaft. Its essentially what you described on the crankshaft pulley for this engine Nissan put the disc behind the flywheel.

lol i have that same code on my current 5 speed mazda protege. UGH!!! took it to the dealership and they still couldnt tell me for sure. I replaced the sensor twice and the computer. So is that the ONLY thing wrong with it? just the sensor? I might need to give you a call bro. If I come up there, im coming to pick it up and drive home. lol

Im trying to hold out by looking on craigslist locally before i have to make a trip out of state.

ok let me know if you decide to look at it. And yes the car is in really good shape otherwise. If I didn't have a baby and in grad school I'd fix it and keep it.
