PA 1997 Maxima - fix or parts car - Stillen
1997 Maxima - Stillen - $500 this weekend
Hi. I'm looking to sell my brothers 97 Maxima SE, 5-speed. The car sat unused for about a year before I decided to try and get it back on the road to sell. A new battery and top up of fluids and the car fired right up. I dropped it off for inspection recently and was greeted with bad news. Apparently they checked the trans fluid and it was basically dry. When fluid was added, it just dumped right out. They said the axles were also loose in the trans. I didn't get a quote for repairs since, basically, I don't want to put any more time or money into the car.
Other than the trans problem, the car is in decent shape. The car is dark green (sorry, don't know the official color) and has approximately 190,000 on it. The body is in nice shape but could use a little elbow grease to reshine the paint. I planned on detailing the car after getting it inspected but it has yet to return. The tan interior is fine, but dirty. Apparently the sunroof was not closed at some point when it was sitting. Water got in and now there's a little mustiness. Some of the leather is not so nice. Some stitching separation on the drivers seat, shift **** and steering wheel. Again, things I would have addressed with a detailing.
The engine runs great. Stillen stainless cat-back exhaust and intake make an awesome sound. I admit to being a little jealous of that sound when my brother had it. The car also has a Stillen front strut brace installed. The previous owner installed a short shift kit in the car but I'm not sure what brand. The shocks were also replaced and the car had a nice feel on the road. Stock alloys have Nexxen tires (sorry, can't remember which model) and I believe there is a set of steels for the car as well. An Alpine head unit is the only other non-stock item that I know of.
So that's pretty much it for now. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the car right now but I can always swing by the shop to take a few. Let me know if you have any questions about the car. I can try to get more specific info about the trans, but they didn't make it sound good.
$500
Clean title.
The car is currently located near New Tripoli, PA. Thanks!

Hi. Sorry, havent checked this site in a few days. Yes, 600 USD takes this car home. I know I'd do a lot better parting it out, but I don't have the time or energy to deal with it now. Time to pass it on to someone who can make better use of it than I can.
The fluid was leaking from where one of the axles meets the trans. I forget what side it was, but they said the axle has about a half inch of play in it at that point.
The car is drivable. I drove it about 15 miles to the shop in its current state, but it's up to you how lucky you're feeling. I'd recommend a tow just to be safe, but you could probably gingerly drive it a short distance.

Hey, Im currently looking for a 4th gen body style, I dont really care if it runs or not as long as its got a decent body, anyway I live in Buffalo NY and willing to drive down and tow the car back to buffalo, my phone number is 7164357475 please give a call or text, thank you.
Need to move the car this weekend. $500 takes it away. Not sure what will happen if it doesn't sell. I still have the front strut brace and can sell that with the car or separately. The best way to get in touch with me is through email at unibuggy@gmail.com or call/text at 610.781.7649. thanks
