So I need a car to pickup for cheap in order for A to B transportation and saw a dealer with a '97 Maxima for sale for $900 with 115k on the dial. So my question is take it or no? Came to this site mainly to ask this question. I still need to go look at and see why it is only priced at 900, but would like the opinions from people who know whats going on. Thank you!

 

Get CarFax and check for any leaks, rust on radiator support, etc.

If you are mechanically inclined, I would check everything by letting max run until fully warmed up.

If not, grab someone who is. Granted will probably have to put some work into max if it's for $900 but you didn't mention if this is an auto or manual. Going to need to make sure transmission is good and check for any maintenance lights (use an OBDII scanner as they may have erased codes just to make quick buy).

I'm sure others will chime in on more than I just mentioned but this is where I would start.
