1987 Nissan Maxima SE 5 Speed Manual - $900 (Smyrna)

Up for sale is my super clean 87 Nissan Maxima. The car currently has 213k miles on it.

I am the second owner, and the first is a family friend. This car has been taken care of its entire life and was originally bought in California.

Interior is near perfect and the exterior is in very good condition for being the stock paint.

Tires have tread but are old.

The car is obviously very old, but everything still runs well. I recently drove it all the way to Road Atlanta and back without a single hiccup. Even the original AC still works. I just changed the Oil, high pressure power steering lines, brake pads, clutch slave cylinder, and spark plugs. Shifts and drives really well.

Price is $900 FIRM

Hello guys, sorry I didn't take this post down. I am a stupid teenager and I forgot about it once I sold the car. I sold it a guy from Craigslist for 900 and he turned out to be a used car salesman who lied about buying it for his son and wanted me to sign the papers to sell it some other guy because he didn't want to have to pay the ~$100 transfer title fee or whatever again. The excuse was his son didn't want to drive manual or something like that.

It would be interesting to see where it is being sold. Anyone got a link?

It is actually in my garage right now. My son saw it and said he had to have it. He is 14 and has already bought wheels/tires for it. We plan on getting the timing belt and stuff done, new suspension as one of the front struts started leaking out fluid, replacing the motor mounts and rack.

The guy was slick, he tried to give me the title you all signed over after he signed it as a buyer. He tried to transfer it over to me by re-assigning it in the dealer section and that does not fly. He had to title it in his name and then sign it over to me. If he paid $900 then he is not that good of a salesman cause he only made a couple hundred off me. The most it has been driven since September has been from the racetrack gas station on south cobb drive and 285 to my house in Douglasville. He starts it up from time to time and I started teaching him how to drive a stick. It was a low cost gamble so if he changes his mind we can dump it and get something else. He as already started in about getting a Q45 and doing it VIP style which i'm old and don't understand. Anyway here is a current picture of it and the '84 that I have which was going to be his car but is now on ebay. It is a 5 speed as well.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU!

I'm so happy to see it again! Oh my goodness it still looks great! I drive a 97 miata now that is really fun but I regret selling the maxima ever since that day. It was my very first car and I learned how to drive manual on it. I would really love to get in touch with you. My number is 678-709-7635.

If you ever decide to sell it, please contact me first! I would buy it back in a heartbeat.
Please take care of her!

I can't believe this is happening! I had given up hope on finding the car and quit checking the forum but I came back just for nostalgia's sake and I found it!

Wow.

I think I know of the racetrack gas station your talking about it is literally a mile from my house. If you're ever by there give me a call!

Awww man. I just read your post history and saw that you sold it to Transambandit.

Well.. that might be the craziest emotional rollercoaster I have had in awhile. As long as it stays within this loving community I am sure it will be alright. It puts me at ease knowing that it was sold between members here at least. Sure would love to see it again though.

Yeah, did sell it. It now resides in NY with a owner who really can take to the next level. It is a very worthy car. I hated that he couldn't really get into it. He wanted to mod it and everything is either custom fab or expensive. This was/is a very good example that was very well taken care of and I doubt that their are many like it out there.

And yes, at 14 I figured it would be a good time to bring on a project to see just how much he is into cars. He tinkered with the Maxima and I even let him drive it. The clutch in this car was so smooth he had no issues. He bought a '98 Outback with the money and thought he liked that but it did not last. He (I) sold it and now he is playing with a '92 LS400. Real nice, elderly owned and very well taken care of car. He has already put wheels on it and is planning motor mods. He'll be 15 next month and can start to drive it. He is a car guy for sure. He wants to be a automotive engineer so it is never to early to get his hands dirty.
