I'm not in a rush, but I'm considering selling my 02 SE for around $2,500.
The bad: It was sideswiped by a flatbed truck and has 280,000 miles. Oh, and I'm in Winchester, so it would be a hike. It's probably farther than you would like to travel, but I figure I'd mention it anyway.
The B pillar was undamaged, and I replaced the fender and both doors. I started repairing the rear quarter panel, but it's not complete.
It's a 6 speed with a fantastic clutch. (Seller said he was 2-stage, though he may have meant stage 2)
Everything works great. The two front cats are empty. The VVT and air baffles move great, so it has the responsiveness it's supposed to have. I replaced the VC gaskets and plugs. I believe there's a CEL for the evap. I replaced the passenger airbag and seat module. (The module is looking for a passenger side pre-tensioner, which I don't believe the car ever had. I think I can just install a pre-tensioner from a Quest to make it shut up. However, I only discovered AFTER replacing a bunch of parts that Virginia no longer cares about the airbag light.)
It currently has Z rated tires and a moderately hard suspension. I like a smooth ride, but I will say that it pulls HARD at launch. I rarely spin a tire.
3rd sometimes bites. Not sure why. The synchro and everything feels like it's all there. It might be low on oil. I haven't checked.
The exhaust was stupidly loud when I got it. I added a resonator and a muffler, and it keeps its muscular tone without being annoying to the driver.
Reason I'm thinking of selling? You're gonna think I'm stupid. I have a 2001 Altima GXE. I bolted a Mitsubishi turbo off of a Dodge Daytona onto it, and now it's the fastest car I have ever owned. It looks like a turtle, feels like a cardboard box, and hauls ***. The KA24DE has much more performance potential than the VQ35DE.
I made some project logs on NissanForums.com, but that site appears to be dead. (It died long ago, imo. I have never seen so much hate in one enthusiast community.) I'm guessing my particular Max isn't all that interesting to you due to distance and prior damage, but ya never know. (-: In any case, maybe it's a ballpark for others to consider what to sell theirs for.
