Im on the same boat as duck 75% that Ill be there. Money is the number one factor right now.

 

Ill definately be there throughout the weekend. Its always nice to drive down to Dallas and party on the weekend, Since the state im forced to live in (Air Force, no choice ><) sux a$$! I just put a new engine in my ride and have my body kit on the way so hopefully she will be shined up and rdy to go by then. See you all there! ^^

Sweet...I'm in! I read the other post about this, but was still unclear on just what all this meeting entails.

 

I'm still ironing out details currently.. waiting on Courtesy and some of the race shops in the area to get back to me on everything.

 

As of right now, i'm still game just as Dave pointed out. I know this must be difficult to organize, I give you tons of credit for it. Just keep us posted.....

Thanks to Flavor 24/7 for giving me the heads up on this. I will be going and am looking forward to it. Not sure yet about the caravan yet (although that would be very cool). Have to see about getting time off and what not. Two more months.

Im 100% sure I will be there, but I will be flying in to Dallas Ft Worth since my car will not be back together and tuned.

 

Do you have somone to pick you up from the airport?

If not, I should be arriving in the afternoon some time, if you would like a ride to the hotel.

 

If Flavor isn't in Dallas by the time you fly in I might be able to pick you up too.

blu and i should both be flying into ft.worth from charlotte. the plan is for sr to pick us up but nothing is concrete yet. anyone have any idea how far the airport is from the hotel area?

 

Thanks guys, once the time gets closer I will have the details more concrete. A few of the Charlotte guys are driving down and will be picking us up if they get into the area in time. I will let you guys know something as the time gets closer.

I would be riding with them but I can't get enough time off of work since they are taking Wed-Tues off which I can't do.

 

Flying into DFW...right? It's west from the hotel...maybe 30 miles or so.

Depending on the time of day you're flying in it could be anywhere from 30 minutes away to 1.5 hours away. Major traffic flow area.

 

Guys, the hotel is changing.. I'm working on ironing that out right now...
also hold off on plane tickets as well, if you haven't purchased them yet... we *might* be moving this whole shebang to Houston if I can't get a dealership to help host the event..

Sooo, stay tuned.. I'm working on all of that today.. hopefully I will have more concrete info soon. all of these places are changing rates and fees and suddenly deciding they don't have room for us.. so I'm looking for other sources now. (see the other Maxus thread for some more details.)

 

Sounds good, hopefully everything can get worked out. I was planning to buy the tickets fairly soon before prices start rising. Right now I can get a round trip flight for $266 which is nothing. I'll be keeping up with this until the event is set in stone.

I hope to have everything set by the end of this week (of course, I've been saying that for 2-3 weeks now)..
I don't have much time left to work things out in Dallas.. if it doesn't work, then I'm going to call a few connections here in Houston and set things up here... much easier than dealing with people 300 miles away in Dallas.

right now, I've got calls in to about 6 dealerships and nissan's regional HQ for use of their lot.. should get something worked out between them.

 

Matt...what happened with Courtesy? Did it fall through? If you give me a chance I would most likely be able to secure Trophy Nissan. Let me know via email/PM/this thread asap.

As you know Matt I am at your disposal...Trophy is down the street from where I live.

 

Sorry if I missed this in the other threads, but what are the approx hotel costs per room in that area? Just trying to get a total expense idea.

Jeff, without naming names, things at courtesy didn't get done in time and the Holiday Inn was already booked that weekend. No Holiday Inn= No Courtesy. I was worried about not having enough parking there anyway.. it was going to be close.

the problem I have with Trophy is that they're 12093487 miles from everything else. I'm trying to do stuff in the Arlington area since the dyno is there, the road course is south (Cresson), and the drag strip is north (Denton).
to have the show in Trophy will be 40+ miles from anything else we're doing, but that may be what it comes down to. we'll see.


I have a tentative agreement with Southfork Hotel in Plano for $59 a night (plus taxes of 13.5% )... but some of the other ones I'm trying to get that are closer to town run in the $70-90/night range.
I'm hoping to get some better pricing than that.
made a few phone calls and am waiting on word back from a few people on other issues.. will know something this afternoon on locations.. once location is set again, then I'll go back to finding a hotel.

Have you heard from North Texas Nissan? That would be closer to the Denton 1/8th than anything.
