Cost: $25 you pay when you get there
You need to tell them that you are there for the "Maxus group under LatinMax"
That gets you all the go-carts (including the Grand Prix cars and the Top E dragsters) and also all the video games that don't give out prizes (tickets)

Also I will be setting up a board to post all our times so that we don't get anyone lying about there time this year. hehehe

the kids running the rides are only working for what they're getting paid.. BEANS. that was the big issue is the idiots running the tracks weren't paying attention to their jobs. but such is life. you get what you pay for, and if Speedzone is only paying them minimum wage, then they got all they deserved.

Unfortunately for them, they won't be getting my money ever again.

And my best time I got in the 5 laps I had on the track all night was a 43.4

Well, my brother and I hung out till 9 at SpeedZone and watched, then decided to hit a real track up in Denton.

Is was on, track prep wasnt the best. I got in about 10 runs.

 

Best time I got out of 5 runs was 42.937 in the Schwann's car.
Good enough for me considering I could only get 44s last year in the doubles cars.

What is the complaint about Speedzone? Just curious.
Maybe some of you are too used to sanctioned tracks with professionals...I just go there to have fun.


Nice to meet some of you...will def see more on Sunday, unless some of you go to Duke's tonight.

 

It was cool putting faces (and some bodies hehe) with the login names. It was very nice meeting eveyone.
Sorry it wasn't to everyone's liking, but most of the people were very thankful for having it setup. I am glad that alot of people showed up and had a good time.

The rookie just doesn't understand how to ride the track in all directions. It's a slick track for a reason!

The problem with Speedzone were the idiots running the Grand Prix track that simply weren't paying attention. cars would stall at the green light (as they always do), and it would be 4-5 minutes before the workers would even look in that direction. Lance had to get out of his cart and walk back up to the guy TWICE to get him to jump start the thing.

They'd let certain people run for 20-30 laps out there and kick others off after just 3 laps (like me). then when you'd go to park the thing, they'd let you sit in the kart for 5 minutes before ever setting the brake so you could get out.
when the new guy would get in the kart and buckle in, they'd be ignored for about 5 more minutes until the guy was good and ready to come take your brake off and let you go.

Eventually they got ONE guy over there with a brain and the thing ran a lot better... but just one idiot out there can spoil the whole thing for everyone in line.

Otherwise, speedzone was great! I always have fun going there, as long as I keep away from the stupid operators!

At one point, as I was getting out of my cart, one of our guys was sitting in his cart waiting to have the brake removed so he could run, so I just did it for him since the dumba$$ wasn't even paying attention to the fact that he had been sitting there for minutes.

I think the bigger issue though is the mechanical quality of these carts. We did so much waiting due to broken down carts that it would have actually been cheaper to pay for each ride individually rather than paying for the all you can race because we barely got to do any racing. It certainly was a big 180 from last year considering how great it was then and how terrible it was this year (I was one of the huge proponents of having another SpeedZone night again).

On the other hand, the slick track was awesome and I know we ALL had a blast on it.

 

Lance, the one you had that kept stalling was just running a less governed engine and if you floored it quickly, it would bog down. I ran it and it had a much higher stop speed and more power than the other kart I was in. you just have to roll into the gas at the start instead of punch it. once you got rolling, it was great.

Last year I remember one of the karts doing the same thing, and it was fine once you got the thing rolling.

-I think speedzone was a blast... being that it was pretty busy and a friday night lines can only be expected. Can't complain when i put some boys in their correct place on the drag strip... behind a woman.

It has a minumum of 30 people and it is verrry late at night. (2:00 AM - 6:00 AM) Makesfor a long night when you are going to the track the next morning. But that way you get alot of racing in, so much that you get tired.

gurlie_J_gurl: Remember you didn't get to be on top every race... I was for one race & right behind you on the others. (note: glad you made it home OK)
