If you guys can't decide where to hold Maxus for next year, I'll take the initiative to hold here in Chicago again. I have learned from my mistakes from last year, and hopefully it wont happen again. It may not take a lot of time to plan for Maxus, but its making early reservations is key to make Maxus successful. All I hear is "oh we should have it here", but you have to think if you have all the ammenities near by. IE Hotels, roadcourses, 1/4mile track, location to hold the BBQ/carshow. You guys have to think is it really possible to have it in you own neck of the woods. I want to see something like this if you want to have it near you. All locations are about an 1.5 hr drive or less.

Plus it costs big $$$ to reserve locations. I know the memebers of Chicago are willing to put the time and effort again. If you guys can't decided by the 1st of September then its going to have to be in Chicago again. I'm not trying to sound like a a$$hole, but if you want next years Maxus successful planning should begin soon. Reserving the Autobahn is what I want to reserve for next year, if you guys can't decide, you bet I will try harder to get the reservation spot, its the money that is key at that point.

 

I'm thinking this can either be done in NJ, Maryland, or PA. They have some real good tracks and are very close to where populated maxs' reside.

I think the DC area is a good location because it's right in the middle of the east coast, and there's plenty to do in the area. The only problem is that the closest real track is Summit Point, which is a hike from DC (correct me if I'm wrong). I suppose I could contact them about their rates for renting out the track for a day.....

so far no one on the east coast has stepped up to volunteer to do anything. so even though they took the poll it ain't gonna happen there.

 

I think what we need now is a poll to see what state on the east coast it will be held in.

 

I called Summit Point and am waiting for a call back about availability and rates....

 

Florida has lots of places for the meet, and big open roads. I would definently love it to be in Florida maybe in the region of Jacksonville all the way do Orlando.

Xander- aka Xmax has said..... ya got to figure out where its going to be held. So ya got approx 20 days left.

Sept 1st we are going to have a MAXUS planning meet date set and will go from there, host 2nd year in the row.

I forgot Maximas are trailer queens and can't make it from NY to Chicago.... if my car make the trip anywhere, yours can too.

accordingtou - better get the ball going for PA then, call hotels, tracks, venues etc.... it takes alot of time to schedule a meet like this, its NOT like your normal "Maxima meet" where you just BBQ and have a small car show- I don't think most of you realize there is more work involved than just saying- MEET in <insert your city/state here> please come by. MAXUS is a meet, but its not a afternoon gathering- its a weekend long event.

 

I voted east coast and would come to md va maybe pa. ny is a lil to far for my blood . i have a trip to seatle planned in july so i will b thin this time next year.

 

I wouldn't be able to make it to Orlando, but Orlando does sound more than fair for the south Floridians.

I work for a large dealership here as a tech, and the owner of my dealership also owns part of the Autobahn Country Club - which is a excellent facility which was used for the 2007 SE-R convention here in Chicago. I will be in talks with him as soon as Chicago gets the green light in a few days .

 

it's funny. tons of votes for the east coast, but not 1 person has said they'd be willing to run it.

Yeah, everybody wants it in their own backyard, which is ok if there are people willing to do the work to get it rolling. The thing that I don't understand is that a lot of orgers aren't willing to drive even a few hundred miles to a national meet.

Hell, the national Z convention draws people from around the world, let alone the States. Some guys from the Pacific rim even ship their cars over for the meets.

 

Well, it looks like we're rolling with it again. I haven't seen a post in days, and I doubt anyone has been doing any leg work. This year we know what to do to make it better. Hope to see more people

 

Deadline is today guys, I'll see you next year. Like Hector said the guys here in Chicago will make it much better. In every which way.

I have seen a couple of good one with no blown engines, and no rust for about $1200

 

$1200 that's too much for a blown engined max in most cases.

 

Florida FTW. You got great beachs, good looking women, the clubs in miami are crazy. Best place to hold the show.
