Maxus Pictures Lets see em!!!
yea.. i stripped my EGR hose fitting, so my front 3 cylinders' exhaust is partially leaking, but the rest of the exhaust is intact. i wish i'd had my tires balanced before going on the track... i'm sure that didn't help my wheelhop situation any (steering wheel was already wobbling a little bit on the hwy). oh well, there's always next year haha.
Oh and it didn't help that I weighed in at about 3645 w/driver 3480 w/out.

Hey what happened to the photobucket Maxus09-2 folder? I posted up the password so people could ADD pics to it and check them out, not so someone would DELETE my 230+ pics and put up 6 videos in its place.. wtf?! I had those pics linked in on other forums!
wow...that's some shady **** right there. Sorry man...that must suck
Oh wow! I'm sorry. Jared's videos have been deleted by someone as well. I would recommend starting your own photobucket account and uploading them again if possible.
something is needed, that requires a password to upload, but users can only delete the stuff they upload , not what others have.
isent that possible to do with photobucket????

The wheels are working out pretty good. I'm glad that MIR had MUCH MUCH better track prep than my local track. I was able to cut high 1.9s at MAXUS 09. But I was still spinning. Just no where near what happens at my local track where I average 2.10 60 foots. Jim said his local track is still much stickier. I noticed his NA 60 foots were inconsistent, ranging from 1.89 to low 2.0s. I ranged from high 1.9s to low 2.0s. He wasn't able to do a decent full 75 shot launch though.
I would love to be able to get a 1.89 60 foot all motor! His locked differential has got to help him.
On all my launches, my car jumped several feet to the left every single time, in either lane, when the slicks spun. A solid diff should solve that problem easily.

Not sure what Jim does. But I stall it up to about 1200rpm just to get it off idle. It's just a habit from bracket racing. I found I got more consistent launches and RTs by raising the revs just above idle. But in order to lay down as much power as possible on the launch, it's best to shock the converter as much possible by launching right off idle.
I have an EdgeRacing converter which gives me around a 3K stall.

how does your car 60 when revved to 1200rpm for bracket vs when revved to whatever RPM gives you your lowest 60' times (even if they are less consistent?) when you are going for best ET.

If I want the lowest 60 foot and lowest ET, I should launch off idle. That flashes the converter higher and the car doesn't bog. If I stall it up to say 2500rpm, the car will launch HARD, then bog a lot, then take off. The best 60s usually come from launching right at idle. I haven't had enough practice with this new VQ35 engine to determine the differences in 60 foots with different launches. But launching off idle is usually best.

that's interesting. i would have assumed the other way around. do you know what causes the bog? i was driving AM_Blackmax's car around 9:30am (black VE auto) and WOT brake-stalled it... with his permission of course. he started doing that afterwards, and his times did improve from what they were before.
I'm not sure why they would improve. There are too many variables that weren't record when you ran his car. But on street tires, you would be having traction issues on both of those comparison runs. It's best to compare back to back runs with perfect traction on each run. The more you shock the converter, the more torque you are going to multiply. Andre from Edge Racing Converters says the same thing. And in both of my Maximas (VE and VQ35), the same thing happens. If I stall it up, it bogs, then takes off. When you stall it up, it may feel to launch harder, which is does for the first 5 feet. But by launching off idle, you are able to put down more power longer through the 60 foot with the high stall converter.
, but i can tell Vince what you said for his own purposes.

There's nothing visible to you in the Maxus 2009 pool.
You need to be a member of a group before you can add something to the pool.
Edit: Nevermind. I had to join the Flicker group in order to see the pics. Thanks.
