not yet, we are still working with the auto cross clubs up there but we are making other plans as well just in case. The issues come down to not only space, but insurance and other things. People don;t realize that even though an auto cross event is in a parking lot, there is alot of expense behimd the scens to get the thing going.

Yeah, I figured that out quickly last year as I was trying to set one up at MIR. Shoot me a PM if I can do anything to help. I don't know any people up there personally, but someone in one of the clubs I race with might.

I understand. I have been doing autox in northern NJ and NY for 2 years, but only know a few people. Maybe I can ask to see if I can get the people that set it up so we can push this along.

As a side note, not sure if you have the Times Sq route planned, but since I live a few blocks from there, thought I'd give my 2 cents about some nice spots:
-59th and 8th at Columbus circle: we might be able to get a bunch of cars in front of the park in the circle for some shots
-From 55 to 47th down Broadway, there is parking in the middle lane of the street, so we might be able to park there a line of cars and take pics with the lights

So I just noticed this:

Sunday - June 27, 2010:
  • Scenic Cruise and Group Photo Session at Liberty State Park
    • We have rented the entire track for MAXUS 2010 Gates open at 10AM
Caravan to leave at 9AM from hotel
  • Main BBQ Maxima Meet, Awards Presentation, and Raffle
    Fords Park - Grove 1
1st, Redmax, I think you copied the format from Saturday but left the "rented track" part there.

2nd, so just to clarify, the cruise starts from Liberty State Park and we all drive to the BBQ at Fords Park, Grove 1? I will add these locations to the Maxus Google Map I made, just want clarification.

Will you be updating the subpages for each aspect of the event? (Scenic Cruise, Midnight Run, etc)

Quick question for ya....for us that are just coming to spectate the Car show and Drag event...what is the cost for entrance fees? I see there is a 20 fee for island dragway, but is it more for the other activities if you are spectating?

what if you just want to run some and not enter the drag competition. My car is stock and slow and I'm just interested in having a few runs down the track. Or does everyone have to enter a class to just have a few runs (not in a competition)

I just want to make sure i do the right thing
THANKS

There was a threat of isolated thunderstorms for Saturday. Just a little while ago, they moved that on to Sunday. Good trend.

In case anyone is watching the weather in East Rutherford.

strange that the MAXUS website doesn't have it listed.

Found this on another forum:
FRIDAY - 7pm

Bazookas Sports bar
457 HARMON MEADOW BLVD
SECAUCUS, NEW JERSEY
201-223-1234

park across the street from the venue in the walmart parking lot. When we first get there the lots will be crowded but as the night progresses the outside parking will get thinner and we can take some good pics!
