H-techs installed-*pics/comments*

Installed my H-techs a few weeks ago but was waiting to wash the car before I took pics and posted them. So here they are:

Sorry about the dark pics but it was the best I could do. You get the idea though...

Now for my impressions. The ride is much stiffer than stock but by no means unbearable. The car bounces a lot going over speed bumps but this is probably due to the fact that I'm riding on stock struts. Large bumps will jar the ride but eventually you learn to avoid them. Also, when you know the roads you're driving on, you know when to slow down for certain bumps. (I live in NJ so many of the roads here are pretty horrible, for others it may not be the case) But overall, my experience has been pretty satisfying. The car handles much better and there is much less body roll around corners. It also feels much stiffer when travelling at highway speeds. Regarding appearance, I love the drop (sure the rear could be a little lower but its nothing much to complain about). I've never ridden on any other springs before so I really can't compare the H-techs to anything else, but I think the H-techs offer a good compromise between ride height and quality. I can also post other pics taken with more light but they arent on a level surface. Enjoy.

Drop looks good, almost even from what i see. Is wheel gap in front smaller than in rear?

Yeah it is. You can't really tell from the pics but the drop in the front is slightly lower. Progress would be a more even drop.

yeah sorry but no one ever really checks that thread.....starting a new thread is just more fun plus its easier to have the pics and comments all together.

your kidding right??? i think the point of having that thread was to keep threads like yours from filling up the main page.

so you are basically saying that you are purposefully disreguarding a rule in the 5th gen forum.

not really considering that I've seen tons of threads including pics/comments of newly installed kits, grills, suspenstion, lights, etc in the 5th gen forum ever since the new picture thread was established. It's BS that mine is the only one that has been moved. Consider the fact that people rarely check in this forum and the thread will get a lot more exposure in the 5th gen forum. Also, I'm sure a lot of 5th gen owners would be interested in seeing pics of cars with various mods so they can have a reference as to what they want to do with their car. Personally, I enjoy seeing threads in the 5th gen forum when owners post pics of their cars so I can see the mods and possibly do the same with my car. By moving all these threads, you're just taking away from the usefulness of the forum because they wont be getting as much exposure. I think that 5th gen mod pics belong in the 5th gen forum. Thats what people want to see.

And BTW, the purpose of my thread wasnt to show off my ride but to try to help other members decide what springs would be right for them. That's why I had my pics and my comments. So basically if I didnt have the pics, the thread wouldnt have been moved? Whatever...

hey guys, so I can just get the springs and drop my car with stock struts? is it very risky that the stock struts will blow?

I've heard on the org that its "recommended" to upgrade your struts but I chose not too. I didnt feel like spending extra money at the time and my stock struts felt pretty solid. I also spoke to my mechanic before I did the job and he said as long as the stock struts were fine, there was no need to upgrade when upgrading springs. The only negative aspect (if youre doing the job yourself) is that you have to compress the springs once again to swap out the struts when you eventually get new ones. It might be easier to just do the springs and struts in one shot.
