My first thread...pics of my '95

Hey guys...well I'm new to the site and just wanted to put up some pics of my Maxima. I've only had it for about a month now. I'm new to the Nissan game, i was into Hondas for a while. I had a 1993 Civic hatchback with a LS/Vtec swap and B16 Si tranny with basic bolt on's. I'm looking for suggestions on which way to go with mods so suggestions/criticism welcomed. I'll post a pic of my old car if anyone cares....i lost most of the pics of it but anyway on to pics:

the Civic

Maxima:

thanks for looking

nice Moda R6 wheels 5spd on leather = hotness.

get started here:
http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php

and FYI, our aftermarket support is nowhere near the civic. just a question, why u got rid of the civic and why u went with a max?

Well the reason i went with a Maxima is because i always loved that body style. The civic was my very first car and back when i got it there wasnt a billion of them runnig around. I bought the civic for $2,000, and after it was all said and done i had a lot of money tied up in it. I have already discovered that the aftermarket for Maximas is nowhere near as large, but i'm ready to learn about them. While the civic was definately faster than the Maxima, it shouldnt take a whole lot to get it goin. I really just kinda got bored with driving a civic so i wanted something nicer. I stumbled upon this Maxima and the very next day i drove 3 1/2 hours to check it out. I test drove it and immediately fell in love. I'm very happy with it so far and im glad i finally got one since ive liked them for so long. Thanks for the comments.....the interior is exceptionally clean, and a little background on me, i usually never let my cars get dirty.

i know in the pic the civic is sitting up high...i raised my suspension to clean the car and scrub out the fender wells

the wheels on the Max are 17's....the civic had 15's

Very clean for a 95. What mods do you have on the max already? I see rims (which are very nice BTW) and some cosmetic stuff, but it looks like a small drop too. Anyway, good luck with the new car!

the max is way better. just take the bra off. and get a tint. looks like u already have a drop thats good. whatever u do dont get a cai. they suck and they make too much noise. get a y pipe and exhaust but keep the stock muffler. aftermarket muffler will only give u +3hp max! and will sound hella loud and ricey.

Very nice find. Looks like you have all the basic mods taken care of. Next consider a Stillen kit and a variable intake from a 2000-2001 Max.

The tires are low-pro but yea they are 17's...i think it is lowered a bit. I defintely plan on getting tint....Missouri summers are hot and leather doesn't help. the bra is already gone, it came with the car and i was just seeing what it would look like. i want to upgrade the brakes, get headers, exhaust, intake, carbon fiber door pillars, maybe some headlights, HID kit, and a system is already in the works i'm just figuring out what i want to do for the enclosure. i'm pretty certain i want the mods listed abover and i'll go from there....i really just dont know where to go

not sure if you always have it on, but take the bra off for everyday driving. otherwise, you could end up with an unevenly and unsightly faded hood.

The tires are 225/45/R17 Bridgestone Potenza's...the bra is off and most likely will saty off. I thought about possibly having a clean bra installed but who knows.....im still trying to recover from buying the car so mods will have to wait until mid-May or so.

thanks for the compliments guys

You should start by getting a Y-pipe. Will notice gains right from the start. Also slap on a nice cat-back like the SP2 or Apexi. Clean find, how many miles?

Exactly what kind of gains from a Y-pipe? any brands to look out for? I've already looked at some cat-backs and I would really like to get the SP2...ive heard soundclips of it and i like the tone, but the price is a little steep. it has 148k on it, but runs awesome. i havent had a problem with it yet, runs very strong, no unusual noises or hesitation whatsoever
