just tinted my tails (95), 2 pics

since 95 tails are ugly and i cant afford red clears, i thought i would try this with a 4 dollar can of window tint spray can. I got it at a hobby store because i didnt want to order nite shades online, its used for model cars.

btw i did this with leaving the tails on as you can see in the pics

i think it looks alright, let me know what you think:

(this first pic has one coat on already cuz i forgot to take pre-pics)

9 coats, one every 15 minutes
the stuff i bought must not be as dark as nite shades cuz other ppl say it only takes 3-4 to get a complete dark effect
anyways it ended the same, just more time

Not bad; I'd like to see them close up sometime. Much much better than the stock orange. How's the light output?

i tried the hazards to test the yellow lights and it looked good, i might put some more coats on now tho because when the sun hits it, it just looks somewhat shaded and the yellow and clear shows through.

Has anyone ever tried tinting the entire tail? Red and everything. I think it would look tight. Looks good BTW.

I think I liked the lighter tint better, but it is hard to tell with the masking still on. Either way looks much better than stock. Good work!
Post the finished product when you get a chance.

^^^ heres a pic of the finished product, the darkness of it all depends on how the sun is hitting it, as you can see its hitting the left but not the right in this pic. in the shade it looks pitch black but in direct sunlight it hardly looks tinted.
and yes gtr_rider the lights show though

when you clear it, you should clear the whole taillight assembly. that will it will match up much better. who knows how worn the lower part of the light is.

It looks good! I used the niteshades and covered altezzas so when you turn on the lights, all you see is the round circles. Other wise they are completely black. The police have not bothered me here in Roswell but I am moving back to Las Vegas and they will pull you over for anything!

I should have pics on my cardomain page. My whole tails are tinted/painted. They were painted with PPG paint, and then cleared. Mine are 97-99 red clears though...I don't know if you just wanted to see 95-96's.
