Good bye Maxima

Finally! After waiting for 4 months.

Had a great journey with the Maximas (3: 1996, 2000, 2003), but it is time to move on.

This car is pretty quick so I'll hold off on getting the Vishnu PROcede for now but as far as comparing to a e46 M3, the M3 definitely *feels* faster even though magazine numbers would say they are the same. I-drive is easy to use especially when used with voice commands.

Enjoy the pics!

Night shots taken in Rothenburg O.D.T.

A few more in Wurzburg

It's moments like these where I hate being a broke 17 year old driving a 10 year old FF 4 door.

It's still better than being 17 and driving a sh!tbox car.

Congrats on the Bimmer.

Thanks for all the positive comments! The Maxima will always have a place in my heart, it is a love/ hate relationship but overall it was still good times. To markd248, almost everybody was a broke 17yr old at one point, its just a matter of time!

Here are my past Maximas:
96' SE 5-spd

00' GXE 5-spd

03' SE TE Auto

^^^
My wife was in tears when I traded her Max in for the 335i.

I wish I could have done ED, but I was not in a position to wait for an order. How has the whole process over there been? Would you do it again?

I'm actually in a different situation. I'm a service member stationed in Germany and I know its hard to tell in the pics but the Euro plates actually read "USA" as opposed to "D" for Germany. But while I can't say how the ED process is, I'm glad to report that the Autobahn and any German road in general is as everybody had thought it would be and more. This is actually my second tour here and I love just about everything in this place.

Nice. If you're going to take interior Autobahn pictures though, the speedo needs to be pinned.

Documenting 150mph on the Autobahn is nothing special, I had to move over for a VW Toureg TDI at those speeds (apparently those things are limited at 155mph).

In this pic, I moved over for an AMG Black Series test mull. It was in Stuttgart where the Autobahn has a speed limit but apparently this guy didn't care. How the **** do you get a job like that?

Some of the BMW dealers down here have a US Military Sales department that deal specifically with Americans. The dealership made a killing with my Max. I had the thing listed on the market for 3 months for $17k and nobody wanted it, they had the car on the market for 2 wks and sold it. But I got the Kelly Blue Book trade-in value which was $13k at the time. There'll always be a market for US Spec cars down here as long as we still have a force in Germany and Germans love to buy large pickups like Dodge Rams just because they want something different. My buddy had random Germans walk up to him and offer to buy his truck for way more than what it is worth.

Pretty neat that someone saw a test mule in person.
Meanwhile, what's the hold-up with the Vishnu PROcede?

I like this picture the most.

Vishnu Procede is coming especially since it can defeat the governor and I'll definitely take pictures of the speedo then. We've done 175mph *indicated* in my buddy's e46 M3 so I'm sure the Procede equipped e92 can at least match it. I'll GPS time it also to improve accuracy.

There's a guy I see every now and then driving one of those when I go to work in the mornings. Same color too. I'm not really a fan of BMW, but that car really is a looker

You should also get some exterior video of yourself topping it out. I wanna see that E92 at 180mph.
