Spring Cleaning and Conversion....

I think the winter is over....so it's time to put the car back together. The "spring conversion" includes taking off the roof rack, winter wheels, and re-installing the 2pc rotors and lower tie bar. Also repainted the wheels and centercaps so they look less crappy. Oh, and a wash of course.

Here's what the car looked like 2 weeks ago:

And some pictures from today

the tie bar. Don't ask about the white tape....it's part of another project

the brakes and repainted wheels with new center caps

Also cleaned up the wifey's car. And yes, it's the 2.3, just doesn't have the badge on the side...

wanna re-paint my wheels? Damn you did a good job. Car looks good but I'm still in shock when I see those paint chips on the side of your car! I'm glad I live in the south. haha

I just cleaned my brakes today as well and checked the lines/pads/CV axles and cleaned the car up

Nice job irish! The repainted rims look great, and I like that red touch on the brakes, not too ricey!

actually, the white tape just covers some holes I drilled for some skidplate-type underbody protection that I was toying with (thinking about doing a rallycross this year ). Keeps any water from getting inside the bar

alot back in high school, but not anymore. I've just always liked the ITC logo I had some ITC stuff but most of the boards I had were powell/peraulta and natas....

I kind of gave it up after I started doing freestyle biking....alot easier to get places on a bike!

How did you polish the exhaust tip? As in the actual opening? regular metal polish?

I hear blatant stupidity works wonders on clear coat and it seems as though you have an abundance of that.

Car looks great Irish, love that rear shot.

I don't want all the bolts to get rusty...even though they're grade8, they'd still look nasty after all that road salt.

It's a frankencar exhaust and it's stainless steel. Actually it's not polished at all, other than some soap and water when I washed the car....

no worries....I *think* I get what his reference to....even if I have no idea why he brought it up here.

btw, it was a 1977 Moped, IIRC...
