Blacked out (almost) on D2s

Here are a few pics before Orgullo steals my suspension.

New stuff:
D2 coilovers
painted front lip
matching tires
Black emblems

The G35 wheels will probably be going to powdercoat next week to become completely murdered out.

son, that is the dopest looking black maxima. to be honest though, i think the silver color of the wheels help to set off everything else that is blacked out. you going to put a rear lip on it too? it almost looks right without a rear lip; just curious. once again, it looks great. that is the reason why i wish i had the superblack instead of glacier pearl.

That is absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of my favorite 5th gens!

I agree with the guy above also, I think the G35's look great as is. I've never been a huge fan of black wheels.

take the money you'd be spending on powdercoating and put it towards an exhaust system.

I think the wheels would look good in a gloss black IF you only powdercoated the spokes. I think the car as a whole looks just fine the way it is now though, very clean.

sooner02r1,
When you go to the powder coater look at all there colors. When I had mine done, they had this black Chrome i was looking at that looked pretty hot. On a black car it would look sick. Its not completely black, it has a silverish tint to it. Kind of like an anodized black.
If not, then go with high glosss black.
Dont od GM or flat black. Those colors are cool, but they look better on lighter cars. For a black car you want the wheels to have some shine and gloss similiar to the cars paint to bring them together.

we actually have tint laws here in civilized Virginia. He's out in the wild west

It wasn't really a comparison of "which looks better" anyhow. I was just noting how similar our cars and the angles of the pics were.

The original blacked-out 5th gen was Bluesbrekr, not me, anyways...

They're OEM paint....for OEM BMW, Mercedes, Audi, and Porsche BBS wheels The pics I posted above are before I re-did them again. They have a bit more lustre to them now.

Our cars do look pretty dang close to the same, but I really didn't intend for it to happen. I wasn't looking for these rims, just stumbled on them at the right time. I definately copied bluesbrekr's window trim. I even asked him in person how to do it at Maxus a couple of years back.

I was going for the ghetto strip club background but had to settle for a ghetto strip mall.....

And we don't need no stinkin tint laws out here, we don't have to wonder if somebody's packin heat..... They are. The first Oklahoma mod is the Glock mod.

Wow, defintately one of my fave 5th gens..
G wheels look soo much better on 5th gens then 4th gens..

and I do agree if the wheels were painted black, the car wouldn't look as sexy since wheels do set the appeal level of any car..

suggestion: paint them gold or bronze instead

FYI, Virginia is an open carry state. I can strap a holster on my leg, put a Glock in it, and walk around town without a permit....

It's DC where guns are not allowed. Please don't confuse Virginia with DC.

Virginia = tha shiznit.
DC = shiznit.

That said, guns are for pvssies. I've never felt the need for one.
