This May I bought my best friend's 97 GLE, already modded. He's had a 06 Volvo S60R for a year so the Maxima sat unused. He let it go for a very decent price so I took it off his hands. On to the pics!
It took about a few hours to get it to run. We tried boosting it. The engine turned but didn't fire up.
We ended up spraying starter fluid into the throttle body while I cranked. There was a loud POP, and the engine started beautifully.
The next week the CV axle broke....
After I got all the issues addressed, I cleaned her up, waxed and polished her, and she's ready to go. (That's my red taurus wagon behind it)
I also have the radiator support problem like many of you. Getting that taken care of shortly.

Ebay racing cat stainless steel 3" "racing" muffler.
Eibach lowering springs with tokico blues. (spine shattering ride over potholes)
17" enkeis with general all season tires on the back, pirellis in front.
Epoxy coated rear brake calipers, gray
clear corners, phillips ultravision headlights (very nice), and red / white tails
I also have two 10 inch pioneer subs in the back, 600w each and a pioneer head unit. all door speakers are upgraded (don't recall the brand).
I also did the led auto climate mod...
Got my SE gauges yesterday, researching the best LED solutions before I go ahead..

Nice start!
I don't understand the 'rides rough' part though. I have Eibach Pros and Tokico Blues, and I couldn't ask for a better ride quality. Other than stock that is. Yes I do notice potholes a little more over stock, but that is expected with the performance springs over stock. (And trust me, NE Ohio has quite the selection of horrible roads too!)
The nice thing about Eibach is that they are progressive rate, like some other aftermarket springs. The only thing I found about the "blues" is that they are not adjustable, yet they are a little improved over stock performance as well. It is a reasonable setup for a daily, and budget minds. Yes Illuminas are wonderful, but cost a lot more. Blues are made for a lower ride spring, and filled with a different gas so they add a more aggressive feel. And boy, my Max loves cornering now! She takes it like a champ and asks for more!!
Either way, everyone has their own preference, and with the age of our 4th gens, they all are different at this point. (If they were all new off the showroom, that would be a different story.) My point is, I think mine rides great, and it may compared to yours because of the many years and differences that have come up with age in our suspensions. So even though we have the same spring/ strut combo, the cars may ride different, not to mention our differences in viewpoints of the ride quality. Tire/ rim combo also do make a difference with ride quality and handling.
On a side note: Once I fixed my core support, my ride quality and handling did change for the better.

It has 161k on the odo. My alignment is off, and upon close inspection the core support is bent slightly, hence the alignment issue (I assume).
Don't get me wrong, I have killer cornering. I take corners at 30mph and my friends say "How did you do that?" I have no issues with that. However, on the highways over here, going over the drawbridges and other rough spots, there are ridiculous ...masses...of concrete just morphing out of the pavement or caving in. It feels like the car just shattered.
You know what, maybe I will take a look at the ball joints area next time it is on a lift, and getting my core support / motor mounts done.
On that note, should I opt for the 80 dollar core support from ebay? It looks to be a chinese manufacturer. Do these last at all?

im feeling that car as well.Just need some work im figuring.How many miles on it?Get those rusted parts dealt with.
