didnt pay too much at all. a car with that low mileage, especially being a AE bought from a dealership. i think 13.5 is pretty reasonable.

When I searched the Charlotte area I generalized the search to just "Maxima < $15k" and out popped this one right in my backyard. I still didn't think too much about it because I had 02/03 in my head but it looked decent so I forwarded it to my son and he fell in love with it and asked me to check it out. I went to see it Friday morning on my way to work and realized that it was something special, spoke to my son on the phone and made the deal for him right then and there. We were afraid that if we waited till Saturday for him to drive down to Charlotte it might not still be there.
I don't think you could have done any better or gotten any luckier. A find like that is one of a kind, it beats what your original search was, although you get 40hp less & no HID's, it's all original no mods apart from the tail lights & the wood-trim. Some enthusiasts would go all out for a car that was only driven 5500 miles a year.

mats

did they forget to put in the AE mats? clean though.

one thing I noticed about mine: the leather is like 50% leatherette...is this true? Cuz the perforated parts are real, not so sure about the back of the front seats, headerests, etc. :/

AE mats were in the trunk when the car was on the dealer lot. I checked for those before I even drove the car. They were like brand new. I don't think anybody ever sat in the car except for the driver's seat... every other area was like completely brand new. Not even a single scuff mark on the inside door panels - I know my cars get scuffed up there by feet hitting them getting in and out. This car was like twighlight zone weird it was so "new" on the interior.

All of the cars I have had or been around (even higher end cars) with leather typically have imitation leather on most of the areas you mentioned - seat sides and backs in particular. That's why the marketing materials usually say "leather seating surfaces".

Wow that's a good find. Low miles! The price isn't too bad for the miles either...

Thought it was a GLE until I saw the SE emblem haha. Best of luck with the hair dryer and some goo-gone to take everything off.

Definitely a legit AE... have the original window sticker. The listing for the smoked tails was crossed out on the sticker, too. Either the dealer did it or the original owner was overly **** about accurate paperwork.

I like it a lot except for that wood. There must be a way to get rid of it. Tails aren't bad at all, but the black ones would have been better

He's now 26 and bought it himself when he was 24, although I did provide the '96 SE he was using during college. I agree about the tails but that was his choice to leave the reds.
