(Non-Maxima) Nightshots: My GS400 for 2008. (8 pictures; 1.56MB)

Hey guys. I just got a new camera; I wanted to test it out tonight. These shots were taken at around 11PM last night. They did not turn out as well as I wanted. The wind was a constant 25mph, with even stronger gusts. That caused the camera/tripod to shake. The shots are repetitive also. Here they are anyways.

I'll be taking daytime shots soon. Hopefully (usually) those will turn out better! Enjoy! Good and bad comments welcomed!

Looks amazing as usual. It looks like you have a new front bumper (or just a lip),grille, and side skirts from the last photoshoot?! Oh and a drop.

Thank you, sir. The front has been repainted to take care of the rock chips/scrapes. The grille, lip and rear tires (fat setup) are new. The drop is the same (Eibachs). The exhaust has been polished.

No offense taken, my man. With all due respect, I am a member here, and it is my "ride." It does not state anywhere that the car has to be a Maxima.

This is taken directly from the top of the sub-forum text: 'Members Rides Post Pictures of your car here.'

Regardless, here are some old pictures of my Maxima for ya!

It could be the white balance in the shots. It has lifetime warranty. I might get it check out. Where have you been, man?

Digitized- I think I am done with it. I might get some LED tails later on. Nothing major. But I might get bored, so... Most of the car guys on here can relate.

SickSE- Thank you. It's right over 106K miles. I think they run around 14.4 stock. 300 crank HP.

max ride 41- I gave the car to my little sister, but she did not like it. So I sold it and used the money to get her a TSX.

Here are ten more pictures from today's golden hour:

I was guessing mid 40's. But with that condition it could be anything I guess. What are your driving habits with it? How is the transmission?

All the night shots of the Lexus were all around 1 second on 100 ISO. The golden hour shots were from around 1/1250 second to 1/500 f2.5. You can check out the exif data if you are interested!

As you can see, I love low apertures!

It looks very good for it's age. However, when I first got it, the paint was in poor condition. It took a lot of work to get the paint to shine again.

According to the Lexus forums, the transmission is bulletproof. All I know is: it's silky smooth. I just did a transmission flush with new Toyota Type T-IV fluid.

I baby it. It gets its legs stretched from time to time.

Pics look awesome, as I've said before, I love your GS. What kinda camera did you take these with? Also where is the exif data? I just got a Nikon D40 and love it so far.

Thanks for all the comments! I use a Canon 30D with the 50mm f1.8 prime for the 2 shoots. I just upgraded from a Rebel, and I love it. A lot less noise.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3905

That's the add-on to view exif data (if you have firefox). If not, you can view it in Photoshop.

The Nikon D40 is a great "beginner" DSLR. Enjoy it!!! Post some pictures!

Very nice pics. I actually just saw your post on clublexus. I was curious as to how you still like the gs. Any regrets? I am thinking about getting one very soon but I am stuck between the 300 and 400. I read the 430 is a little sluggish in terms of throttle response due to the electronic throttle. The 300 and 400 are similar in mpg and city driving while the 400 shines on the highway. The 300 is also a lot cheaper. Any thoughts or recommendations?

I absolutely love it. The powerband on the 400 is smooth and linear. The shifts cannot be felt, for the most part. I recommend you get a GS400. It's an around an extra 100 hp with close to the same gas mileage.

You should go test drive both a GS300 and a GS400. Then make your decision. I think the extra money is worth the extra power. Good luck!

They are all autos. You can put a 2JZ with a 6-speed conversion to make it manual!

really? I thought Gs3 was manual or auto and Gs4 auto..
in that case, I'll get the GS430 and swap tranny and engine
