Kinda new/old whip

Picked up a 94 Legend LS 4 door off a customer at work, details :
Came in with a timing belt broken, they didn't want to risk doing the belt and finding out the engine is bad so they offered me the car for a dirt cheap price. I found out that the belt got ripped apart by the engine seizing up. How did it seize up ? No oil changes by the owners son, who went to college and drove it like that for 2 years.

Few months of negligence on my part, and laziness for the most part I got my *** in gear and fixed the car.

New heart ! Motor is out of a 97 3.5RL. Its no longer a 3.2L V6, but a 3.5L V6 with a buttload more TQ and lower compression which makes it 87 octane friendly. Its somewhat of a complicated swap, as many things need measuring and testing before it can be all swapped.

Using 94 Legend harness, intake manifold, injectors with rails, OE ECU, Legend tranny and SOME Legend mounts. 3.5RL block and heads, along with the differential off a RL also. I don't really gain any more power with the engine, but I gain ALOT of low end TQ as the engine is tunned for low RPM power vs high RPM. It makes it for a very strong car from the line, 1st test drive I burned the tires through the whole 1st gear and chirped 2nd !

Things I replaced:
Valve cover gaskets
Intake manifold gaskets
EGR cleaned out
PAIR cleaned out
New oil seals on the motor
New diff seals
New belts
New axles
New radiator
New radiator hoses
All the heater hoses replaced
all fluids replaced
many many other small things I am forgetting....

I had a 91 Legend BASE before, and it ran 15.2@91MPH bone stock all day long with a A/T tranny. This car is quite a bit stronger off the line so I think it should be a mid to high 14 second car. Its super comfy, retains OEM feel to the engine performance.

Fired up on me 1st try, no check engine lights or anything. I will try to snap some better pics after I detail it. I got engine shots, but my camera battery died before I got around to it.

Engine from the RL was much cheaper to buy than the Legend one, thats the main reason I got that motor and did this weird swap.

I got some SSR wheels for it coming, new radio to replace that Eclipse junk in there and I need to tint the windows.

No I didn't want a 6spd, those transmissions are poorly spaced and I prefer A/T tranny Legends.

Sweet, that's in good condition! I have a friend who is a crazy fanatic of Legends. Do you have any plans to mod? BTW here is a link that shows his car: http://www.acura-legend.com/vbulleti...lights-101481/

Lifetime warranty on the car kind of has its benefit

I pretty much just have to pay for gas on this thing. It doesn't get good MPGs, but thats ok. I have a bike for gas mileage and fun, R32 for track events, autoX and crusing, the Legend is a family gettaway comfy ride.

Very nice. I always liked that generation of Legend. The design was way ahead of it's time. Nice swap too.

No bling wheels, trust me guys.... I love classy looking cars. I haven't owned a set of cheap wheels since 2001- and those where "then baller" Konig Tantrums before anyone had them.

I've always had SSR, Volk, Rays or OZ wheels.

If I sell the car, it will be 6K bux probably. I seen ones with unknown history going for 6 with the original 3.2L V6.
