looks good!!. I think those same underglows would flow with your car better if they were white but the car still is flawless

they arent underglows. they're jdm puddle lights and they are white in color. somehow they came out blue-ish in the pictures. they only turn on when the doors are opened or when the dome light button is pushed on the remote.

Awesome, exactly what I want to do with my car (puddle lights) but can't find anywhere to tap the dome signal.

And you should get projectors

Very nicely done.

I was actually planning on doing the same kind of thing (puddle lights). SO when I open my door or even unlock it with my keyfob, it will light up.

pull apart the driverside a-pillar and you should see a black loom running all the way up. open it up and you will see about 5-6 wires. the ones you want to tap are the red/black (power) and red/white (ground). if its different, just take your dome light off the roof and you will see the color wires you need to tap.

im not forking out the money on projectors nor the time needed.

This makes sense and what I was about to try, but do you happen to know for sure this is true for 5th gens too? Thanks

Oh and any pics of how you attached the puddle lights?

i like where you're going again. seems like you switched focus for a minute there. now switch back to some dh or similar wheels, get rid of the wing and lip kit, and get some psssh psssh in your life.

im not sure if the wirings any different but it should be the same concept. i drilled holes into the sideskirts and mounted them. i shouldve taken off the sideskirt which would have made the install much easier. there are some DIY if you google search. thats where i found the writeup.

no worries. the only time they're on is when the car is unlocked or the doors are open. no other times than that.

if you must... i think that kit (and every other maxima kit) works against what you're trying to achieve. to me it's a situation of "if you can't do it right don't do it at all". the mae's are a very popular wheel. i've personally never been a fan of that style although they have been growing on me.

so you think a stock maxima slammed/tucking with 19s/20s will look better than one that is kitted? even a simple lip kit? i beg to differ. that's what makes it stand out from the rest. you look at all the other vip style cars out there. they either have a lip kit or a full bumper kit. i do have to say the way this particular lip kit is designed isnt the best choice but what other choice do i have? full bumper kits for the maximas look like ***. and i'd rather run this lip kit than run stock and slammed. it just wont look as good. im only taking this car as far as this. maybe a couple small things here and there. but in all honestly, i regret heavily modding this car. crap this is turning out to be a rant.

lol at your quote. you can only take the maxima so far before you run off the cliff. it's still a 10+ year old fwd nissan. no matter how much you do, it's still that: an old nissan. its like that other quote: "Dude, it's a Maxima." now i come back to how modding this car wasnt the best idea in the world..... hahaha man i need a drink. man i just got all depressed thinking about this. wtf.

Newbs these days. . It is an amazing looking Max though. I'm pretty sure the paint job is stock, but still a black 4th gen. FTW! And it's not a bumper, but a lip kit.

i say stock and slammed is the way to go, but you have to go low to pull it off. comparing the max to the kitted vip cars is apples and oranges. there are good looking kits available for those cars. the maxima... not so much. but this is only my opinion and my taste. i30s have a much better selection, although it is still slim pickings and they aren't easy to get.

i don't hesitate to dump cash into the max. its a nice car for what it is (midsize fwd v6 entry level sedan) and age means nothing when you're really building something. the vin might say '98 but 95% of the car is '08. different story when you're just doing bolt ons i guess. that being said, if you desire more than what it can be (midsize fwd v6 entry level sedan) theres really no point in wasting the time/money. might as well save it for something else.

my q has satisfied my desire for a vip build, so my maxima build has changed a bit. i'm still gonna slam it and it's still gonna be baller but i don't feel the need to reach for vip status anymore. i think the build will be better for it.

The puddle lights are led, not neon. It is also a vip thing which goes along well w/ his vip styled car. He mentioned they only turn on when the dome lights are on, or when you open the doors, so it is not like he is driving with them on. I find them clean and well fitting for the theme of his car.

They look good for the theme of the car as long as they dont (accidently) come on while driving
