Asking for opinions before I go through with this:

So I posted the same thing in the 7gen rims topic, but I figured I'd come here as well and ask some opinions on the look, and perhaps find some good suggestions before I go through with it.

So here is a before and after(with the after being photoshopped)

before:

After:

By request, untouched lip:
edit: unpainted lip pic removed, looked like poop.

Yes. Love it. With a drop it'd be even better. But I'm biased towards all black wheels.

I agree, it really does look nice, but I want something a little different without going too crazy, which is why I'm considering the powder coat route.

That's an interesting idea, I'll photoshop that when I get home from work and see how it comes out.

ok I added one without the lips touched, and I'll admit I don't like the look of that one much. Maybe it's just the way the photoshop came out though.

Oh this is not a cash thing. I have the cash for new wheels, I just like the current wheels and wanted to see if coating them black would work, and what people thought.

Though after the posts so far, and some internal debate, I'm probably just going to leave them stock and just tint the windows.

Stock wheels are way too expensive. You can get a set of Enkei 18's with Goodyears for $1,100.

They might be too expensive, but if I'm going to keep 18's on I'll stick with the ones I've got, thanks for the suggestion though.

Wow, you sure do love people that paint their rims, even if it is just to hold them off till they can purchase new ones.

I think the stock look flows better, unless you paint your wheels pearl black that really shines. A flat black really doesn't complement the overall look of the car. But new chrome wheels should do just that!

I had to be a little harsh. I didnt want you driving around looking like that. I'm not 100% against painting factory wheels. (more like 87.5%) But with ANY wheels decision, it all boils down to how it flows with the car. Both of the renderings you posted look extremely tacky.

I say, leave it stock until you get a drop. Then find a nice set of 20s.

ugly is ugly regardless of circumstance.

luckily for me the op asked for opinions. i, however, did not. thanks anyway though.

and btw, if it was a black or 2 tone themed car i probably would have said go for it. throwing black wheels just on anything is tasteless imo ("o" stands for "opinion" btw ).

He did ask for everyone opinion, as did i in my latest thread, so you are correct. Im sure he appreciates your opinion as much as i did, which is quite a bit.

I like the stock too anyways

I think it'll look good if you black out the chrome trim and get some tint as well.
