Some updates on the WRX and GT6
Some updates on the WRX and GT6
JANUARY 2010 edit: new stuff post #27
The WRX is currently in winter mode with the Wintersport 3Ds on the stock wheels, STi springs, etc.
Recent mods:
- Perrin SLS - essentially poly rear subframe bushing inserts
- Rallitek endlinks
- already had the Cobb FSB and Perrin RSB
- Subtle radiator and alternator shrouds
- some more cosmetic stuff.
Stuff on the way:
- Perrin FSTB (xmas present from the wife)
- RCE/Bilstein shocks/struts
- RCE yellow springs (350ft/lb)
- GTWorx front camber plates
- Rota SDR 17x8 Gunmetallic (these will be my summer wheels, I have another set of SDRs in silver for track wheels).
also have a few brake upgrades and maybe some audio stuff to do.

The GT6 has been coming along nicely too.
- rewired the entire car electrical and had a custom dash made with 2 extra gauge holes
- disassembled and refurbished all gauges, switches, etc.
- made a sheet metal radiator shroud
- retuned the SU 1.75 carbs
- rerouted some fuel lines
- installed new cable throttle to replace the rod linkage
- picked up a spare transmission in trade for a bottle of good Scotch
this winter:
- replacing u-joint rear axles with conversion C/V axles
- get a good alignment
- get a bit of exhaust work done
- shim the front LCAs for more camber
- rebalance driveshaft
- redye Miata seats so they're black and not faded

meh, the max can do ok in the winters if you run winter tires:
(actually yours looks better than mine did since you have the 5.5 front bumper)
lol...NASIOC is full of threads about Rota lovers vs. Rota haters.
Generally, most people who takes their cars to the track or to autocrosses has multiple sets of Rotas, because they care more about good, inexpensive, lightweight wheels than they do about "name brand" and don't want to have to worry about trashing a $500 wheel on a curb or pothole. I've had about 6 sets of Rotas and never had a single problem with any of them. The one set of "JDM" (g-games) wheels I had years ago I managed to bend TWO of in normal street driving!!
And then all the haters are the guys who spend all their time at parking lot meets polishing their Volks that have never been on a track or crying because my SDRs look just like their Prodrive P7s but are wider and cost half as much
btw, you need to do something about those wheels on your ride
Some 19x10s with hellaflush offset and super-stretch 225's yo!
meh, she has her own accounts too (she works). And since I was gonna get it anyways and can never think of any presents I want, I just let her get it for me so she knows she got something I actually wanted...besides, this winter I'm saving up my play money for Bilsteins, because those suckas are NOT cheap dammit. FSTB wasn't a big priority for me, but its in her Xmas budget so let her get it.....

not bad josh, but with a xmas gift from the wife, doesn't it just come out of the same bank account?

Pshh....BMW l33tness only adds 40whp. Which means you're still way behind
The wheels on the pontiac will go soon enough once winter is over....I can't decide what I want.
-18x9 24mm Mustang Saleen Black 5 spoke rims
or
-18x9 30mm Rota G Force Hyper black rims
Either way I have some time till Spring before they get put on

its my JDM gauge. It gets higher every time I add a JDM mod, yo

or maybe its an Omori boost gauge

Stock red taillights look gay?
@ ur rainbows.
