Just a teaser

On my quest to be closer to the ground with my I30 I decided to get a front lip. The only company that makes one for the i30 is ionic dynamics but i'm not too big on that one. So I decided to go custom. Heres a few teasers cause its not finished 100% yet and its not painted.

Questions comments and critisism are welcome. Good or Bad.

There's still some glue on your trunk...

Thanks... Trunk has to be repainted. The glue wont come off without the paint going with it. lol. That will come when I re do the fenders, and finish the lip.

Looks very promising!

Although I think extending the exhaust tips would have been a better idea than to chop the rear bumper

Well, original plan was to both cut and extend but I havent been to the exhaust shop yet. I'm lazy. lol.

How did you do yours? Did you move the entire muffler back? Or just make the tips themselves longer.

I'm not 100% sure yet. More than likely it will be a valance though. It will probably be molded in though.

More than likely. I'll probably find some stillen sides to chop up.

I had the muffler shop chop off the tips on mine (both HKS and on current stock muffler), added a 3" inch piece of tubing to extend the tips out more. Since the Cattman is single wall tips, I think your best bet is buy buy whatever tips you like, and have it welded on.

Thanks for the info. I guess thats the plan. I'll see if I can get it done soon.

The lip is some aftermarket lip from an 05-06 acura TSX if i'm not mistaken. We just cut it up some.

not crazy about the lip but it doesn't look sloppy or anything... just not my style.

looking at the curve under the fogs it almost looks like it was made for the i30. i think you should trim it down a little more and set it higher on the bumper. goes against the "lower to the ground" goal but it will look batter than a lip that hangs significantly lower than the sides/rear while still eating up a little gap.

*edit - here's what i'm talking about:

^ thats exaclty what I was I was thinking 100%.

The reason I went for the lip though is because I cant ride daily any lower than it is now. The car just cant take it. As you know I can feel the axles fighting for their lives as I accelerate lol. But I'll discuss things with the body guy and well go from there

I'm actually thinking about raising it back up another half inch to see how it affects drivability. Also because ther driver side is already about that much higher since the 5 speed swap.
