My C6 Vette Z51 6-speed Convertible

Hey guys...been a member here for awhile. Recently picked up my 1st Vette 3 months ago. Always wanted one as a teen, and finally got one at 29. Its a Victory Red/Ebony C6 Z51 Convertible 6-speed. The only bad thing, everything else I drive now seems slow.

And the best part (and why I didnt get a Z06)....i can take the top down

At first I said I wasnt going to mod it because I already cant floor it in the 1st 2 gears without loosing traction, but like all us enthusiasts, the mod bug has bit. I already redid the audio--took out the Factory Navi/Bose system and installed a Kenwood DDX DVD player unit with Navigation brain/Ipod controlled, Boston Acoustic Components, JL 8" X 2 Custom C6 Convertible Sub enclosures behind seats w/ JL audio 500 X 5 amp powering it all. Also, just installed a BBK intake. Doing headers next. Cam'med Vette's sound so ridiculous...i might hold off on it because I like being able to have a somewhat quiet ride when I want to just relax.

DrunkieTheBear, Leo_Koneval, blaxima06, EnervinE, and Conrad283 (lol)...thanks for the compliments.

And yes, DrunkieTheBear, the HUD kicks butt! Does your's have the G-meter on the bottom? So far the most I registered is a 0.98 without loosing it....

I wish I had the G-meter I would like to see how much I could push before and after my suspension upgrades.

I have corvette brakes which stop pretty good tho

Good lookin Vette man!

They have always been my dream car and I was able to get one a few years back, at a fairly young age like you. Then I got married, bought a house and had a kid....so guess what had to go. I will have another one someday. Enjoy driving it man, they are fun cars!

Gratuitous photos of my old Z06:

Nice car!

My neighbor has one but not convertible, he just put an exhaust in it and it sounds good! I swear that car gets cleaned everyday...pristine condition all the time!

Any mods in the future?

Thanks...you had one great looking C5 Z06!!! I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm sure you have a nice family though to compensate. I have a serious GF right now, and she's beginning to pressure me into the "M" word. Stories like yours make me want to avoid it if at all possible.

It seems that most Vette owners are older guys who are obsessive/compulsive about their vette. Sounds like your neighbor fits the stereotype. The mod bug already hit me, see my post a few back...

DON'T DO IT!!!!

jk man, like you said, the family is great and I can always get toys later in life.

Thanks everyone for the compliments. In case you were wondering, here are the details of my old ride:

2002 Z06 Electron Blue/Black Int. - Hurst Shifter | Kirban Shift **** | K&N Air Filter System | CCW SP20a 19x10F, 19x11R | Lowered on stock bolts | 15% tint | Lloyd's Floor Mats | Lloyd's Cargo Mat | Z06 Exhaust Plate | !CAGS | Halo LED Tail Lights | PIAA Extreme White Headlights

Mostly cosmetic as you can tell, these things are fast enough (although I wouldn't of minded more power ).

Being able to DIY lower your Vette on the stock suspension is such a wonderful thing isnt it?

I'm actually thinking of getting the cheap lowering bolts instead of just turning the stock bolts. Have you guys heard reviews on some of the different ones out there? WCC bolts seem to have some rubber end wear issues....

I wouldnt feel comfortable going lower than what the stock bolts give me. Roads around here are way too bad and I already scrape all the time.

But from what I've seen bolts are basically bolts.

Welcome to the LS3 family!!

Which header company are thinking of going with?

I'm thinking of getting some ARH LTs and getting a tune by Corvettes of Westchester, heard they do good things

I'm going with Kooks Headers and X-pipe. Yea, man the Chuck Cow Tune from Vettes of Westchester is supposedly the best around...people come from all over the country to get it. I would get all the bolt ons and then tune it after though if I were you. Looks like you have an Auto since you have a GXP...he supposedly has a crazy tune itself JUST for the Auto tranny. Supposedly does wonders for Auto Vettes (I personally cant believe Auto Vettes are so popular---it just seems wrong).

Thanks man....when I found out from my good friend who owns a Car audio place that JL audio made these enclosures specifically for the C6 convertible, I had to get them. They look and sound awesome. I'm past the days of window-breaking bass, just needed something that sounded good and looked even better!
