Old School

I am happy with the progress so far. I am going to swap the rims for some lightweight 16s that I have. I like the SER rims but i want to show off the 4 pot calipers a bit more. Still needs to go for paint and tint.

I sold my beloved 323 Turbo so I can sink more money into my maxima.

69,600kms....

Looks fab!

What does it need a new paintjob for? Love the color, and it seems to be spotless??

Love it. My dad used to have a red 2nd gen. It was the car that first got me into Maximas. The car looks pristine, keep it up!

you can wet sand the scuff marks off, imperfections as well. 2000 grit and go reallll slow until you see the marks dissapear. then wax. nice color and max.

I just started driving the car around this summer. It was sitting in storage for a while and it doesn't get winter driven. Car needs a new exhaust and a few other things still. Sprung a gas leak 2 days ago . In a couple of weeks we should have a nissan meet. My buddy has a boosted specv also. Nissan FTW!

BTW i tried to sell this car in the spring... $1200 and not a single person showed interest or came to see it. So i decided to sell my project 323 to fund the nissan build. I think i'll be keeping it for life now.

Well the car is a 2005 Toyota Echo 2dr hatchback. The US never got them but the closest thing is the Scion xA.

I'll make this story as quick as possible....

It was a limited production toyota echo cup car. It was a factory built "race car". Only 30 were produced. The differences over the stock echo were the following:

Koni yellow adjustable struts
momo shifter, pedals, and steering wheel
DAI 16" rims
Performance exhaust
CAI
Full Roll Cage
1 Sparco bucket seat
No power options... not even a CD player...

The car was bought by a friend of mine. The first thing he did was pull the 1.5l stock motor and fully built it and turbocharged it. I then purchased it off of him shortly after.

Then i swapped a 20v blacktop motor with 6 speed LSD ITBs and turbo'd it. Drove it around for a summer then after much thought put the same setup in the back. I wanted to do something different. After been driven around a track in an S2k i knew i needed RWD. The original plan was just to put the motor in the rear and make it mid engine... then we thought about the 2jz but with the 6 speed GETRAG transmission it wouldnt fit... I thought 3sgte in the rear.... Then i decided awd would be the way to go and instead of swapping a 3sgte awd system i decided twin engine would be better. The boost is independantly adjustable so i can make more power in the rear or in the front or both equal, giving me control of the power distrbution. Or run just the front or just the rear...

Car currently runs and drive. Just have to put the firewall and a few other tweaks. Dyno'd in at 503hp on 8psi...

My dream is to oneday have 1001hp.

But back on subject with the maxima... I have grown fond of the car. I've been thinking of a few options. Contemplating getting the car vinyl wrapped in satin black and murder it out... or just repainting the entire the car same color but shave the door mouldings...

As far as the engine... turbo the stock motor (which i love just wish it was RWD)... 300zx Z31 VG30ET RWD setup.... VQ35 from a newer maxima... RWD V8 Q45 (drool)... RB26 RWD... I want to do something different with it.
