- put the interior in for shi1z 2 nights ago
- Sparco, cant see how that matters, other people have Corbeau and such
- mismatched paint? after bodywork the new stuff was matched but of course after 18 years the older paint has faded so it looks different
- Magnaflow, youve got me there but im getting a new exhaust from Cmax's mandrel 3rd gen catback group deal

- Did you put it in properly?
- Yeah, but they usually have supporting mods. Once you have a turbo or the likes, people will lay off. But racing seats in a stock autotragic? Come on.
- It's called blending. Any good painter realizes that the paint will fade over time, and adjusts the OEM paint mix they're using to compensate.
- I'll believe it when I see it.

- yes all in properly
- floored, auto is faster than stick because of the TQ converter, and a auto can be manually shifted without needing to release the gas/press down the clutch.
- hell i just wanted no more rust, dont care what it looks like really
- exhaust group deal is ready in around 2 weeks i guess

i just have a $170 speeding ticket to take care of in the meantime

- Pics or it didn't happen.
- Autotragics shift faster, but sticks have better gear ratios. Trust me, I've driven both now. The 6MT 5.5 is a LOT quicker than the autotragic.
- So paint the car primer grey.

i dont care if the painter is GOD himself. an 18 year old paintjob cant be blended to match. even brand new finishes are blended because theyre's usually variants from the factory, depending on when and where it is made colors will change slightly. but after that much oxidation there's no matching a gold finish. if it were a darker non metallic color it would be better.

dont get me wrong, i'm not defending the person who painted that bumper and fender because they clearly didnt blend the door to better match the color. but you get what you pay for.

and chrome91, maaco sucks. if you've never prepped a car for paint get ready for poop on a platter because they'll spray over nicks chips and sand scratches and tell you what i said above. you get what you pay for. find someone close to you to guide you in the prep and to a better place than maaco

maaco uses their own paint for their all over paint jobs. the metal flakes are usually too big so it looks ackward. not to mention the fact that they wont sand and buff the car out for their cheappo price. if you go somewhere else to do it and they burn the paint then you're stuck. better to spend a little more now that alot more later

I had my car painted at Maaco, and it turned out really well. The one I went to is a certified repair shop and uses Dupont paint (versus the Sherman Williams most Maaco's use). You can always ask for final wet-sanding and buffing. If I get mine resprayed any time soon, I'm going to have a couple coats of clear sprayed on there and have them wet sand and buff it out. The shop I went to in Raleigh is great, and they do amazing work for the price (considering mine cost $250...)

i love your paintjob, the sparkles look good. there was a Q45 at the junkyard here that was black with sparkles in it, looked so good when the sun hit it

the thing is here theres dozens of places that paint so i might not try Maaco

A lot of people also smoke crack....doesn't mean it's a good idea. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly is JDM about your car?

My car is about as JDM as Apple Pie

Oh wait! I have yellow fog lights! YES!

But other than that, I am lacking in the cool car department.

well the thread is like a train, it was on the rails at first, then it started shaking, then it derailed, blew up, and crashed into a school of children and bunnies.
