I will start with the car pretty much stock. I started the led conversion, wood grain trim and stereo the first day i got the car, so nothing was ever completely stock in pictures.

One of the first things I did was chrome gauge rings. I will do this in order.

Since I bought the car and it had stone chips and scrapes on the rear bumper, I decided to have those repainted.

(Later pictures will show it painted)

My first Halos, looked nice but hardly ever worked right

Gauge Overlays

interior leds

Acura Shift **** and suede shift boot and e-brake boot

G35 Sedan Seats

Lowered car...Tokiko Illuminas and B&G springs
(You can see a faint paint color difference in the hood from having it repainted)

I was reading this thread and they don't look so bad once you put some time and effort into em. I have a 5th gen and I hate the stock headlights.

Yeah... It's kinda funny how people mod their maximas without first researching on here. Those eBay projectors are a prime example.

Yes. the seat had to be fitted onto the maxima seat frames.

and people talking about the headlights: I knew about the fitment issue and that the light output wasnt great when I ordered these. After I got into an accident, I couldnt justify spending 300 on a brand new passenger's headlight only to open it up, paint the housing black and add the halos and still have them not match the driver's headlight because they look newer. I went with these cuz I wanted the halos and they dont make any for 02-03 anyway. there 150 for the set of headlights where the work is done for me or 300 for one headlight that would always look out of place.

With that being said, I still think I can get it to fit better.

The headlights are awful, I do like everything else though.

I would have just done that if it was me. I don't think there would have been issues with one looking newer. Headlights really only show wear on the lenses and a quick 10-15 minute wet sand and polish of the older headlight lens would have taken care of that problem. And even if they did look a little different it still would be better than the eBay halos. They look like cheap plastic, have poor light output, and don't fit well.

Not trying to flame as I do like everything else you've done with the car, just saying. It would only have been a $150 difference plus a little elbow grease to get the headlights as they were as opposed to the eBay setup. I'm assuming you went the cheaper route because you rear-ended somebody and with your insurance deductible the repairs to the headlight were on you?

That suede headliner is a very unique mod. I doubt you're going to find another 5th genner who's done the same. Looks good.

It looks good either way. I'm looking at them right now on eBay and they're $163. There's two pairs (one a few bucks more$$) I just can't tell if they're the exact same or not. It's hard to tell lol

no...didnt rear end anyone. i hit a gaurd rail. My father put it under insurance as him hitting the gaurd rail so it didn't go against my record. he wanted a cheaper repair and keep the money. I would have liked to paint the whole front end to make it match lol but i guess its a project for another day.

it was purely because I do like the look of the headlights. fitment looks awful but found that out when I installed them. i really do believe theres a solution and the light output would be fixed with e55 or tsx projectors. the build quality seems good tho so I'm not sure where that came from...I heard ebay headlights got a little better quality recently tho...

I tried the projector retrofit using directions from a stickied thread in the 5th gen section along with directions on how to aim headlights properly. I strongly recommend knowing how to aim these as mine were aimed into the sky the first time I tried.

The light woutput is great...tho it should be if there mercedes projectors lol. I feel like it still needs something.

I'm looking at shrouds because I think that will take attention off the metal cage you can still see in the headlights. I'm thinking of these:

G35 seats, suede headliner, trunk setup all on the stock wheels with the mild drop is A+ in my book.

But the RSX **** and suede shift boot really looks out of place in there. Especially next to the woodgrain IMO. You have an overall clean look going so far with the car, i think a black or brushed aluminum colored shifter console and black leather shift and ebrake boots will flow much better with what you got going so far.

I understand your reasoning for getting those ebay headlights. good job on the retrofit. I personally like the stock 02-03 lights better but under your circumstances, i'd probably do the same for the time being till I can afford the factory units again.
