Slow progressing 6th gen...

I have so many ideas in my head, but I'm too lazy to actually finish anything lol. These pictures are from a few months ago when I installed my BC Racing coilovers and XXR wheels (not everyone will agree on the wheels, but I didn't want to spend too much on wheels since this is my DD).

Yesterday, I actually finished one project I was working on, which is ironic since it's the last one I started lol. Probably only because it was the easiest. Here it is installed, can you spot it?

If you spotted it, then you deserve a golf clap! Lol. I ran across this emblem looking for a replacement emblem for my grill. I think it looks a lot classier than the Nissan burger, and figured it would be a good tribute to the first gen Maximas. It is a hood emblem from either an 85 or 86 Maxima. It definitely showed it's age, but I was able to restore it to an acceptable condition.

Here it is after I sanded off some greenish residue from the chrome backing (looked like it could've been mold).

Here it is after I took the emblem apart, sanded off the black paint, polished the clear piece, and repainted the emblem black.

And here's closeups of it installed.

Thanks for looking!

Love those wheels, biased opinion but I think Maxima's pull those off better than any other car. I'd remove the stupid screws they put on those all around the outside by the lip, they'll look ten times better without those.

That emblem is awesome too. I'm looking for a JDM Nissan wing emblem to put on my trunk like yours right now but I can't find one anywhere.

Thanks bro, definitely appreciated! I know the 6th gen isn't the most popular so it's always cool to get some love from other gens.

Thanks! If the bolts were removed, the wheels would be left with a crapload of holes. If anything, I could change the bolts out to different ones, but I'm fine with how they are. If you're looking for the Nissan wing emblem, I think that one comes from either the Bluebird or Cefiro. Pretty hard to come by, I saw one on eBay a while ago but haven't seen one since. If I wanted a Nissan emblem I'd probably get the pentagon shaped Cima emblem, but the wing one is definitely nice too.

I said it before and I'll say it again, the ride looks GOOD man. Like the emblem in the back and I agree, it's better than the nissan burger.

Anyways, it's always good to see a 6th gen in the members ride section.

Thanks, they should go back to two piece emblems, they look so much nicer.

Dislike for 6th gens seems to be the general consensus, so I take that as a huge compliment. Thanks bro, and your Max is hot!

Thanks a lot! I'm trying to keep it as simple as I can while trying to stray away from the "4DSC" theme. If I add anything, I want it to look like it's OEM.

Thanks! There are plenty of things I'd like from the 6.5 (front bumper, headlights, hood, side sills, etc.), but right now I'm just trying to work with what I have.

Thanks! I figured not everyone would feel the rear badge, but you're the first person that's said that (not to say that you're the only one that thinks that lol). But yeah, I definitely like it, even though it's a tad too small for the 6th gen's chunky butt. What surprised me though was how something as simple as an emblem completely changed the rear of the car (at least for me).

That car with a 6.5 front end would look perfect! But for now it looks pretty damn good to me. I love the wheels, drop, roof spoiler, tinted tails, everything!

I love the tires too in that rear end shot but I'm a bit biased

Thanks bro, appreciate the compliments. I am considering changing the tails to the ruby red LEDs, which are a little darker than the OEM tails. If I do and the red still seems too bright, I'll just have them lightly tinted.

I love how the wheels and tires look from the rear too, it is exactly the look I was going for.

Not bad, this is one of the few 6th gens that look good. That emblem is nice and some how fits with the car. I think I may take that idea for my maximas v2.0 build lol...

looks awesome! I love the wheels and the stance of the car! I wouldn't mind doing a similar setup on my wife's '07.

Thanks! I wish I could lower the front more, but since this is my DD I think it would make my life miserable lol. I'd like to try other different things too, because I'm not too big on the aftermarket parts available, at least for how I want my car to look.

Thanks! Good luck finding the emblem, if you find any let me know, I may want another one lol.

Thanks! There's quite a bit of cutting/grinding for this stance, the 6th gen just wasn't built for it. But if you really want it, you'll make it happen.

like the way the max looks. I could immediately tell that the 2nd gen emblem was added to the rear, and I like it. It is a bit too boxy for the newer style maximas but it gives it a bit more of a classy feel. I am kind of biased though, since I own a 2nd gen(my baby).

Thanks! I felt the exact same way about the emblem, but in the end I am very happy with the way it looks on the car. I see you have an 86, so I'm assuming you have the same hood emblem? And since you're in the 2nd gen scene, would you happen to know where I'd be able to find more of these emblems (used of course, I think I found a source of new ones, but they're almost $100!)? I just want another one, I actually bought two, but my dumb@ss cracked the first one trying to separate the two pieces, I wanted to slap myself silly when I did that lol.

Thanks! It depends on the overall look of the car, I don't think it would look right on a sporty looking Max.

I don't get them from any sellers. I would say just grab them off of junk yard cars(the 2nd gens are becoming rare sights in my area junk yards, because most have already been junked and torn apart for scrap). pricing will vary depending on where you are located, and what junkyard you go to. Those two pieces are on there pretty good, so I never attempted to seperate them.
