The Saab life

I picked up a 2nd car to get around since the Prix has some extensive mods now and its getting even more (heads/cam/and all that good junk).

So its a 2001 Saab 9-5 base/Now Aero. Love or hate the looks, the car is absolutely awesome, fun little car to drive, I love the Car. Its quiet on the inside (couldn't hear the cops sirens the other day when sitting at a light) and rides pretty smooth. Its got the Turbo 4 with about 160k miles on it now. It has the winter package and the Hardon-Krapon 9 speaker system, plus all the other options that it could have. Gem in the rough really. Previous owner took damn good care of this car. It only needs a tie rod right now, but other than that the thing is damn solid. I'm pretty much done effn' with it and will probably stay this way.

Current Mods
Exterior:
Orange Overlayed turn signals
Black painted grille
Bronze painted wheels
Aero skirts/Aero rear bumper
Mach 1 custom front lip (that doesn't really fit)
A bunch of stickers cause I'm cool
35% tint
OEM Saab roof racks
Abbot racing rear spoiler
h7r 55w 4300k HIDs

Interior:
Ipod tape hook up
Boss POS all-in-one 1200w sub
Wheel skinz cover

Engine:
Open Air intake
Resonator delete
*Its going to need a turbo in the spring and a new downpipe, so I went ahead and bought a TD04 turbo and will buy the 3" downpipe, and will probably throw the upgraded inlet pipe on just for fun (since its cheap), then tune it.

Suspension:
Brembo Aeros up front with Hawk HPS
Brembo base in the rear with Hawk HPS
*Bilstein with Aero springs in the Spring

I may upgrade the bushings and sway bars down the line overtime, but for now I'm going to go back to working on the Prix.

Pictures at dealer

At home completely stock:

And how it sits now:
Bought my first DSLR camera, went out and had fun with it today, learning alot, some photos are awesome, some are so-so

I missed all the colorful leaves on the trees though.

*Hate the stickers, I just did cause I felt like it, I'm probably gonna ditch them soon

Beautiful! I love 9-5s, it's a very unique car. I was about to get a 9-3 before the G but couldn't find one:/

Actually the headlights are pretty good. I have the H7r HID kit in it (no glare) and output is pretty wide.

Not the best picture but it works

How H7R bulbs work:

People will fail the M.O.T in europe if they put an Aftermarket HID kit in a halogen housing, with the H7R people actually pass the M.O.T.

Not bad but it doesn't compare to your MH1 set up. I have trouble seeing when going back.

Projectors are nice, but I didn't really want to break these lights open, the light output is pretty good as is.

You love your projectors don't you?

Nice car. Saab's are nice. I used to have a 92 900s and loved it, my dad currently has an 03 9-5 aero and that is fun to drive and fast with the turbo. Always loved the ignition in in the center console.

Sure do! FX35's with FX-R clear lenses, 55W DDM ballasts with Morimoto 55W 5000K bulbs. I honestly think its my favorite mod.

I am doing well, went back to school for a career change in medical technologist. I still live in Fl. I still have the max just getting old. Nothing really new with it just giving it tlc. In the future 4dr pickup truck next vehicle. What kind depends what is out there. I am probably gonna go with diesel with a 6" lift kit and rigid industrial led lights.

Not sure if you heard but those older turbo 4's had a problem with cold weather and oil sludge buildup. Suggest inspection of your oil pickup screen if you haven't already done so.

I sold my Max last year for a 9-3 myself. I like how modern and even similar the '01 body style is from 10 years ago.
