Thumbs up Bought a 2000 SE 5-speed.

Some of you all might remember me, I had a 96 SE that I took from practically nothing and turned it into a pretty sweet ride. I then lost interest in it, parted it out and sold it and bought a Z32TT.

Here are a few pics of the old 4th gen.....

So since my TT is almost done, I bought this 2000SE. Car is a 5-speed, plan to do some mods to it. Not getting real deep into it right now though since I am in the process of finishing up my 90 300ZX TT. Here are a few pics i snapped. Car was dirty when I took the pics.

I have been loving this car so far. One of the first things i am going to do is lower it, then go with an exhaust, intake, etc....So yea, I am stoked.

Nice purchase. What options does it have?

Be prepared for a P1320 code to trip your SES light eventually. If you don't have a OBD II scanner, I suggest getting one.

It has everything minus the leather and digital climate control. Although, I am now in the process of doing a black leather interior swap out of an 03, so that will take care of that.

Threw my old Progress/Cattman coilovers on the front last night. Need to get the rears rebuild, so for now I bought a set of rear progress lowering springs for the rear to take care of the butt in the air look. lol Should have those in and installed by the weekend/early next week.

Has it been hit and repainted? That drivers rear quarter panel looks like a different shade of color.

I don't know why they repainted it. I looked behind the 1/4 panel and i didn't see any damage, but yes, it has been repainted, I am going to have it redone, because the shade doesn't match all that great.

Yea, I love having the 5-speed. I found it on craigslist, and jumped right on it when I saw it was a SE model in a stick.

Now I need to drop the rear and I'll be golden.

I need to go over the car with the #2 and #3 rubbing compound. Did the number one and as you can see left alot of swirls. Oh well, its on my to-do list. haha

Finished putting the rest of the black interior I had in the car this afternoon. Took me roughly 2 hours. Now i need to score a set of seats, and get a glovebox and some other small misc stuff.

Rear is now lowered using progress springs. I need to have the rear coilovers rebuilt and need to figure out how I'm going to mod the upper strut mount for the progress coilovers before I install those. Looks better now at least. Could prolly go lower on the front. Have about 3 inches of thread left. lol

And picked these up at Crutchfield today at there sale outlet. Got them for $50.00 a piece. Normally 130.00 a pop. Excuse my messy trunk. lol

You can lower the front more, but it will wreak havoc on your c.v. axles. You will be replacing them every time you change your oil.

Yea, that what I was thinking. Had that problem with my 96. I have to change them already. They are making noise and have leaking boots. lol

It looks good as it sits. Personally, I wouldn't lower it anymore.

Thanks guys!!! New addition to the car. I still need to repair one tab and I want to disassemble the lights to repaint the trim inside. I think I want to go black to match the 00 SE tails. Also need to clean the inside of the lenses, they are a bit dirty. And you think I should clear the lower orange lenses to match the tops??? Any suggestions would be appreciated!! Thanks!

Outstanding!!! Looks like you drove directly to your shop and slapped 'em in lol. Blacking them out would really be awesome. Glad the lights went to someone who would use them. Now I have $$ for my AE retrofit.

Looks good Paul! 5.5 headlights are my favorite mod on a 5th gen, the looks and light output are so much better. There are going to be 5th gens with 5.5 lights all over the place now. I did that to my AE, and I just did it to another guys car a few weeks ago in our area.

So, I took the headlights apart last night, and cleaned the inside of the lenses, they look like new now. Got lazy and tired and said the heck with blacking them out. The silver doesn't look all that bad. At least there not chrome. Maybe some other time.

And I want to to a grille upgrade, I almost like the one in the car above. Or I might try and do a 02+ grille, and pick up a lower bumper lip.

I'm thinking about doing eyelids on them. Think they would look pretty good

Nice pick up. Looks like mine. The only difference is mine had black leather interior and no wood nor sunroof visor. I like the headlight mod. How well does it fit against the 00 bumper? Could I please see some close up pics. They look super clean. Might do these intead of the AE's.

I will get you some better close ups when I get home tonight and post them on here. IMHO the gap is not bad at all.

I actually have the seat back, just need the bottom piece. Unless you want to let it go as a whole set. How much?
