Well I have another 4th gen in my possession. 97 SE 5 speed bone stock with the exception of a SS 1pc clutch line. Its rough but it was cheap!
This time around I am planning on documenting my work done to this car on the youtubes. Have a look, hopefully the video embedding works.

Well, it was short lived. Long story short it needed a lot of maintenance to get it where I wanted before thinking about all the mods.
Bought a 1997.5 Altima 5 speed that needed MUCH less work for $400 and sold the purple Maxima for the same price as it sat.

So far I've installed a new throttle control rod, valve cover gasket, radio, fixed a few minor brackets, sunvisors, and gauge cluster trim to clean it up a bit.
Somewhere down the line I'll consider a VQ swap when this clutch goes out.

Ive installed a hotshot header and short throw shifter sourced from a local junkyard, along with some used eibach springs I found online.

It'll need new brakes and tires soon, other than that just dealing with the uncomfortable seat on my commute.

Maybe . I seem to have developed a trend of buying cars here in AZ without working AC, but in reality the Altima is just a cheap daily beater/backup with working ac/heat/ cruise to get me to work and back.

Maxima needs AC reinstalled, and transmission/TOB removed and inspected for a rattle at idle with clutch disengaged. Previous fixer-upper house was taking all my time and energy to even think about this.
Pathfinder is getting fixed now; alternator went out in the first week and its got the death wobble. Getting those fixed and doing a 200k tune up before I rely on it, and then I'll finally dig into the maxima.

 

Nice. Time to start pumping out those flywheel rings! BTW, do you have a thread for your 6MT swapped 7th gen? That sounds very interesting. How does it compare to your 4th gen?

 

I see how that could be misinterpreted. Those are all the engine configurations I have/had in my 4th gen,
