At least for motor oil, Amsoil will reveal any leaks or oil burning. When my 2002 had its original engine, Amsoil tripled oil consumption and made it start leaking. That's NOT because there's anything wrong with Amsoil, but there was something wrong with the engine. I wonder if their transmission fluid reveals problems in a similar manner. The thinner oil (5W30), better tests for oil leaks/consumption. Thinner oil also flows better, reducing the "dry start" time. I'm running Amsoil 5W30 in the 2019 Engine in my 2002 Maxima and am happy with it. DO NOT let Amsoil substitute for changing oil at least once every 5000 miles. Amsoil is for the "spare no expense; I want the best" mentality. Any talk about it saving money for less frequent oil changes is marketing happy talk. YOU will be the one stuck with engine problems if their marketing talk is wrong.
